Surprisingly good for frozen food

Anonymous June 7, 2026

Marie Callender seems to do better than most with frozen foods. There's a general issue with consistency and texture when you deal with things that were frozen, but these don't suffer that fate. Flavor is top notch for something out of the freezer and tossed in a microwave. Texture too, the noodles aren't just squishy worm like things, they have a good bite to them. Meatballs are also a great texture.

Too few meatballs. The sauce was not as yummy as home made. You can put frozen meatballs in a crock pot to slow cook them in a home made a sauce, low heat 4 to 6 hours. whisk up this sauce in a few minutes. Two cups beef broth, one carton of sour cream. Table spoon of corn starch with Two tablespoons water made into a slurry for thickening sauce and one tablespoon warchestershirer sauce for that take me home yummy taste. Only takes 5 to 10 minutes. The sauce works for about 10 to 15 meatballs. You can buy a 48 oz bag of frozen meat balls. Use half. Save the rest for next time. Or save the rest for Marinara Sauce night. Learn to Stretch your dollars. For the money you will have lots more meatballs, a plentaful amount of sauce, and this is served over egg noodles. The satisfaction is worth it. I grab a ceasar salad kit and serve that too. It is ready in two minutes.

I'm not sure what people didn't like about this because the reviews are a little bit low. I thought it needed salt and pepper but other than that it was pretty good. Seemed to have a lot of meatballs.

Taste very good. It's a good value.

Jerry November 17, 2025

I used the oven method to cook this. It came out very good. I just added salt and pepper to mine. Tasted a lot like what you get at IKEA. Meal for two for less than $7 is a great deal.

Instructions suck, make sure the entire thing is covered or those noodles not covered will not cook %26 cannot be eaten, otherwise the inside %26 meatballs were decent tasting for something different.

The flavor was great, but the texture of the noodles was awful. Really mushy. I like the Marie Callender's scallop potatoes, they are really good, but these were terrible. Would not buy again.

Hard to rate when you just bought this weekend and haven't tasted yet. Please don't send these requests so quickly. I don't use or eat every item same day as my order. I'm unable to go shopping therefore I'm now ordering lot of things I've never tried before

Save Your Money

damian February 12, 2026

I had low expectations for a frozen meal and somehow still ended up disappointed. The Swedish meatballs don't taste anything like Swedish meatballs. They taste like breakfast sausage patties rolled into balls. Whatever seasoning they used, it's not the warm, savory blend you'd expect from a Swedish meatball. The egg noodles were even worse. They had this strange, doughy texture that reminded me of undercooked pizza dough. Slimy and unpleasant to eat. And speaking of unpleasant, there was barely enough sauce to go around. You'd think a dish called "Swedish Meatballs %26 Pasta" would come swimming in a creamy gravy, but no. You get a thin coating at best, leaving you with a pile of sticky, gummy noodles. Take a look at the ingredient list and it starts to make sense. The main components are sauce, modified food starch, and onions. The actual meatballs and pasta? Listed at 2% or less, right alongside the afterthoughts. So the star of the show is starch and onion water with a few token meatballs tossed in. This is a "Meal to Share" at 26 oz, but honestly I wouldn't share this with anyone I liked. Completely ridiculous product. Don't waste your time or freezer space.
