I'm pleasantly pleased with these paints. I got them to supplement some of my more expensive tubes and I'm quite happy with them. I got the 18 set, which includes the more traditional painting hues - colors that I don't use quite as often but are nice to have on hand. They're nicely pigmented, a nice texture (a little bit thinner than more expensive tubes but they settle into half pans nicely) and are nice and smooth. Overall, I think this is a great set, especially for those who might be starting out with watercolors and don't want to break the bank. IMO, they're a bit better than some "student grade" sets, which makes them a great purchase.

I snagged this on sale, which made this an excellent addition to my paint collection. It is a clear, clean, intense, lightly on the cool side, blue. A little goes a l-o-n-g way! Just gorgeous. It reminds me of cloudless September sky in New England. The only downside is that there are no pigment numbers or information re: lightfastness that I can read. Regardless, I will purchase again.

I purchased several colors during a super deal price. I swatched all the Marie's colors I bought and compared them in hue, intensity, and consistency with my other watercolors. They favor positively with W/N professional and Daniel Smith. In fact, in some colors (permanent rose) I prefer the Marie's. I am a serious student of watercolor and am glad to find some good paints at a very affordable price.
