Finally Walmart has some decent cheese choices!! I used to get something very very similar at Whole Foods but they quit carrying it. I tried the few they recommended but nothing ever tasted the same. Until now!! I can’t believe the flavor profile this little guy has. But it’s an acquired taste y’all. It ain’t for every one. It’s very hard like parmesan. Has a nutty flavor. I just hope enough people in my area will purchase it enough to keep on the shelf.
Some people may not like the aged cheese taste but we love this cheese. Aged cheeses are usually considered healthier (really imported ones are, not American made). We use it as a probiotic and snack. If you have certain health issues you may need to avoid aged cheeses (eg. High histamine or on certain meds).
EXCELLENT !! To all those clueless people complaining about a 3-year-old cheese being too hard I say this: Go eat some 'Philadelphia ' stuff and leave this Dutch Masterpiece to the real connoisseurs !
This cheese was amazing. Usually Gouda is soft. Not this cheese. This was aged. You could definitely tell. Delicious cheese for the price!
This Gouda is excellent. Tastes amazing. Has that little bit of crunch from the aging process. I eat a little piece as snack during the day.
Much smaller than I expected. Oily. Slightly soured.
it shouldn't have been sold. It was so hard that I wouldn't classify it as food. Totally inedible. It's more like a dog's chew toy. I've already returned it and gotten my money back. It
Very dry, not much flavor.
It's very dry and 14 days away from expiring. It's not edible.
This was dried out and turning white. So hard I could not even cut it.
