First time i bought these i was disappointed. Since then i have purchased numerous times and the results are not consistent. At times the pastry has great texture %26 filling is generous; at other times the pastry is dry and filling is hard to find. Sometimes i get this because its easier than finding a decent bakery with almond products %26 other name brand stores arent much better. I have noticed the last few times it has been better, so maybe someone's listening. I hope so.
These are very tasty danish but the almond flavor isn't really prevalent. Maybe my expectations are too high since I like almond flavor. The crust is crunchy on outside, which is a pleasant texture in comparison to the soft interior. There are a few sliced almonds shared between the two danish.
This pastry was dried out, and was within date. I cant imagine if it was old. No icing on over half of the danish. The taste was just flat, no sesoning, or flavor at all. This was just awful, and I will not be ordering any further pastries. Total waste of money. In the past they have been on the dry side but this was ridiculious.
Packaged with two pastries. One had decent flavor if you only ate the middle where the sweet almond filling was. The rest of the pastry was dry and wasn't sweet at all. The other was missing the filling entirely so just dry pastry with almost no flavor. Definitely a disappointment.
I might as well had a piece of toast with almond extract. There's absolutely nothing inside. There are maybe 3 sliced almonds on top. There should be at least a little almond paste on top (if that is what that 1/4 teaspoon of stuff on top is). It tastes like a piece of bread with almond extract and a smattering of sugar. I don't recommend this danish.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH WALMART DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS. YES I AM WRITING IN CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE I AM BEYOND ANGRY. HOW DOES IT HAPPEN THAT I ORDERED ALMOND DANISH PASTRIES BUT RECEIVED "TRIPLE BERRY MUFFINS?!" CAN SOMEONE MAKE SOME SENSE OUT OF THESE, PLEASE? I AM STARTING TO BELIEVE THAT THE STORE SHOPPERS ARE PURPOSELY MAKING MISTAKES TO HARM THE SALES %26 AGGRAVATE CUSTOMERS WHO ARE SPENDING HARD-EARNED MONEY %26 EVEN THOUGH I SPECIFY NOT TO SUBSTITUTE ANYTHING, THEY DECIDED TO DO SO ANYWAYS. IF WALMART IS GOING TO ALLOW THEIR SHOPPERS TO DO THAT, THEN WALMART HAS TO ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO RECEIVE REFUNDS FOR ITEMS NOT RECEIVED AND STOP THE NONSENSE OF DENYING CUSTOMERS THEIR MONEY BACK!!!
Was really looking forward to biting into this visually appealing pastry so it was doubly disappointing to discover that it was not only tough but difficult to find any almond paste/flavor at all. Very expensive lesson and one that I will not repeat.
how did undercooked, unfinished food make it to the packaging, much less the shelf? zero glaze, zero texture - it was like a mouthful of almond baby sock. it looked so far from the picture that the light from the picture would take a hundred years to get to it. ugh.
Great value for your money…if it tasted good. I was hoping it be the closest to things in my area to an almond croissant with a flaky croissant pastry and sweet almond paste center. This pastry was everything but what I expected. It was dry, super doughy, bland, and dense. I couldn't believe what I'd just bitten into. For it to continuously sell out every time I put it in my pickup order, it was quite disgusting. Refund submitted and approved.
Marketside products are hit or miss. Butterflake rolls HIT! Almond Danish MISS! Wish I wouldve read reviews before buying. Criticisms are very valid. Picture looks delicious but this pastry is NOT. This cost $1.50 per unit. Couldve bought Krispy Kreme donuts for the same unit price, and sweet tooth wouldve been very satified. Instead VERY Disappointed...
