My husband is in a wheelchair so we use Walmart delivery. Our shopper picked out fresh bags for us and we bought several varieties of these bagged salads. They come with enough salad for 2-4 people depending on if you're wanting a meal salad or side salad. We toss the dressing and extra goodies included in a large bowl and serve. If we are making a meal of it, we add some grilled chicken or salmon that we purchased/prepared separately. It's a great mix of cabbage, kale, lettuce, carrot shreds and we enjoy eating healthier without all the prep.
Salad was fresh and has great flavor. I do however find with some of the marketside salads, there is less salad and more toppings. Other times more salad and less toppings. These are not deal breakers however it makes meal planning for a family difficult.
I love these salad kits. They make sticking to my diet so easy. I lost interest in home made salads a while ago because without extensive preparation and other purchases, they just were not as interesting as these kits. One thing that I do is to use different zero fat and zero sugar dressings to keep the calories down. I just give the unused dressing packets to two of my adult grandchildren for their use. I have clear favorites among the Marketside offerings and since they are easily equal in quality to the higher priced "Name Brand" versions, I save money too. Nice Job Walmart, You are helping me consistently lose 1.5 to 2 lbs a week.
This is a very good item for snacks or just something to make lunch or dinner brighter. The flavor is great and everything is fresh. The different types of veggies makes a good looking crisp meal that is refreshing and tastes good. The dressing is delicious and there is plenty of it. The price is unbelievable for this quality.
Love these salad kits! I add homemade blue cheese dressing %26 nuts %26 tomatoes %26 dried cherries. YUMMY! I sometimes add cooked chicken or pork or beef for added protein. I change up the nut variety %26 add feta cheese instead sometimes to make these type salads to my liking. The Asian salad kit I add a can of drained mandarin oranges.
I know I could chop everything up myself, but this makes everything so easy! I add a little chicken or some other protein, and it is a complete meal, which I usually split up, half for lunch and half for dinner. For the convenience alone, it is worth the price to me. Everything was fresh tasting and the lettuce was crisp. It is important to watch the dates on these kits, but this one was great.
Convenience of all ingredients together to make a salad is good. Issue with salad kit is highly processed seed oil using extreme heat and chemical Hexane in the dressing. It’s not a small thing. Oils should be healthy, cold pressed, expeller pressed or avocado/olive oil. I’m conflicted as to whether to recommend. Probably fairly harmless to consume if infrequent for the convenience. Would also be better if greens were organic.
Almost all cabbage and kale. The cabbage is in large chunks, and tough. This was not what I was expecting. Not enough of the tortilla strips and shredded cheese toppings. I did not use the dressing packet. Will not buy again and would not recommend to anyone.
I bought two bags. One is half full and the other is much less than half. It looks like they forgot to put an ingredient in. It was in a pickup order and I'm disappointed that it was included in the order instead of being switched for a bag that was complete.
Whereas this salad mix was one of our Family's favorite ones, the last 2 times we purchased it and several other Marketplace salad mixes, the majority of the greens were chopped green cabbage, not the mix of stated greens. Every bag we opened was like that. We did pay for that; it was like the trimmings off a head of greed cabbage.
