Absolutely delicious! Added to blue cheese salad dressing, or in a chip dip - or sprinkled on a yummy salad (with cranberry and chopped nuts?), I can always depend on this really tasty Blue Cheese buy! (Use it to stuff large olives on an hors d'oeuvres plate! Yum!)
Like all containers practically specially in the dairy department this is a victim of shrinkflation as the package is smaller than when I first started buying it. That said this is the One of the top three blue cheese crumbles in town and the other two are at higher end markets. This is my go to blue cheese, Tangy and full flavored, and it's really good on a salad. Try it with raisins, avocados, Green onions, lettuce, tiny bit of cabbage and/or carrot or kale shreds, and balsamic dressing. You will be astounded how good that is! Feta is okay too but blue cheese takes it to a new level.
I have a Blue Cheese salad dressing recipe that I have used for years and when I started using Marketside Blue Cheese Crumble Cup, it enhanced the taste of the salad dressing. I keep it on hand along with a 2 cup container of sour cream so I can make the recipe especially when company is coming to dinner. It is GREAT!
This is my favorite blue cheese. If you eat blue cheese, you're probably very specific about the type you like. I personally don't like the more expensive brands like Stilton and think they have a horrible flavor. But I've always loved Castello extra creamy blue cheese and this is an exact dupe. If you like that, this is the exact same thing but cheaper. Super creamy and perfect for salads (or right out of the package as I've done more than once).
We make a lot of blue cheese dip and have tried different blue crumbles but settled on Marketside. It tastes great, the price is right and having Wally deliver it to my door in my weekly order is beyond convenient for a couple of old blisters like us who still get around OK but would much rather have them bring it to us. Good stuff.
If I could put blue cheese on everything, I probably would. This tastes very good, not unlike most grocery store blue cheese, Although its not fancy imported cheese, it is perfect for hamburgers, salads, sprinkled on vegetables, and makes a nice grilled cheese sandwich.
Marketside Blue Cheese Crumble 5 oz cup goes very well in salads, for vegetable toppings, on crackers or many other recipes. Only 100 calories per 1/4 cup serving with sodium of 290mg, 8 fat grams, protein 6grams and only 20 mg of cholesterol. A great way to include dairy in your diet! You can include in many different sandwiches, melts easily on a baked potato and one of many ingredients in a garden salad that make it special! If you only want a sprinkle the calories will be less!
I myself have always been partial to chunky blue cheese dressing, it's the only kind of salad dressing that does not activate my acid reflux issues. Marketside blue cheese crumbles allows me to add extra chunks, according to my own personal taste 😋 I've also been told blue cheese crumbles pairs really well on a burger, something I myself have not tried yet, but plan to...
I love blue cheese and this batch is basically just made incorrectly with no regard whatsoever towards quality. Sometimes you need a guy that knows blue cheese. The moisture was condensed on all sides of this container. The color is an off yellow. The texture is sloppy wet and I can't tell why this made it to the shelf. Walmart market side blue cheese used to be very good… not anymore!!!
The expiration date stamp was current, but every single one of these, were fuzzy and moldy and brown. I noticed this with great value cheese dip as well. (perhaps great value dairy is having issues.) I had bought a ton of these blue cheese crumbles from the store, so I could use them with salads and other dishes. Each one was in this condition.
