This Boston Cream Cake Was absolutely delicious. I bought it to share with a neighbor over coffee and after trying it first I kept it all and shared with NO one🤣
I have always loved Boston Cream cake and this one is very good. It is refrigerated at the store so you know it will be fresh when you buy it. Everything about this is very good: the cake is moist, the filling is delicious and the chocolate helps to make the whole thing even better. For me it is very rich which means it will go a long way towards satisfying a group. It’s a little pricey but then so is everything else. I highly recommend it.
This is my favorite dessert. I grew up eating this exact Boston cream pie. The recipe is exactly the same as it has always been and I'm grateful. Couple years ago we went to Boston and I was excited to taste my favorite dessert in Boston. It was not the same. And much preferred the Walmart Boston cream pie. If you grew up in Boston and know that original Boston flavor, you may be disappointed. It's the perfect custard to cake to chocolate ratio. Best eaten cold straight out of the fridge.
This Boston Creme Cake is Heavenly! The combined ingredients offer a delectable and yummy experience that you WILL want to enjoy in the future. It's truly irresistible! Try it...you'll be glad you did.
this cake is absolutely delicious... light vanilla cake chocolate frosting and best of all the Boston cream in between... it is just FANTASTIC 😉👍
It's a good version of Boston Cream Pie but it definitely needs more filling as there was barely any there. The chocolate icing top was good and thick.
needs more cream filling. eats a bit dry
Surprisingly, the cake was better than I expected; however, the Boston Creme filling was very meager. The cake would have been close to excellent with the proper amount of filling.
The product claims to be a Boston Cream Cake made with vanilla cake which is nearly what I was looking for. A really good Boston Cream Cake is made with sponge cake, but for the price, I didn't mind having vanilla cake instead. Unfortunately, the title is misleading. This is NOT a Boston Cream Cake, and the cake is NOT vanilla. This is a Vanilla Pudding Cake made with yellow cake mix. There is very little vanilla cream between the two layers of yellow cake. The chocolate on the top is just thick icing rather than the ganache one would expect to find wrapped around a real Boston Cream Cake/pie. An actual Boston cream is a very thick yellow custard made with milk, egg yolks, sugar and cornstarch. It is not vanilla pudding. A real Boston Cream cake has an inch of filling between the layers of cake. Cheap varieties may only have half an inch. This vanilla cream was less than 1/8 of an inch. Custard is thick enough to hold its shape between layers. Vanilla pudding is not. The taste and texture was ok for a vanilla pudding cake with thick chocolate icing, but as what it was claiming to be, the taste and texture was very disappointing. If you are looking for a Boston Cream Cake (AKA Boston Cream Pie), this is definitely NOT what you want to purchase!
This cake had more frosting than cake the frosting was notably canned rather than fresh. The cake was two very thing pieces with a tiny bit of creme. It was as if you were eating chocolate icing from a can with a hint of cake and creme.
