1,440 sodium content? The daily recommended sodium intake is 2,300 mg per day. Can I eat anything else today without maxing out on my sodium intake for the day? The soup tastes good, I would by again. Just offer a reduced-sodium version and compare the prices. I will buy again, just not as many. Thank you for offering a variety of fresh soups ready to eat.
Other reviews had me on the fence about this one, but figured it was worth the gamble considering the price. I am sick so my taste buds may be off, but I added celery salt to the soup and it was really decent. It's not loaded with noodles, and overall was balanced for ingredients.
I have to be on a liquid diet for a while. I blended this into a purée and I’ve never tasted anything so delicious in my life. Maybe it’s because I was starving, which is what happens when you can’t eat solid food. Maybe it would not have tasted as good if it had not been puréed, but such as it was, I was pleasantly surprised.
When I got the soup, I got it for me then my son became sick and he was coughing and sneezing too much. I forgot all about the soup that was in the refrigerator and I was ready to make chicken soup in the house. Then I remembered the soup I pulled it out. Let it warm up for a little bit put it on the stove later and give it to him. He failed much better and he told me that was a very good soup and he has a very good taste. It was yummy so he had it the following morning. I could see a little change in his behavior. The sneezing was almost gone. His voice came back to normal. Good job. That’s a good soup. If you can buy it try it.
So the taste of the soup is good, I like the thick noodles. The problem comes down to the fact that I, and probably most people, can't eat this soup (or most walmart brand soups) without worrying about if we are going to end up with cardiac arrest with the mind boggling amount of sodium in these soups. Literally 60% of your daily intake AND the soup wasn't at all very filling, so you are gonna have to intake even more sodium trying to fill up the rest of the way and from whatever other meals you have that day and that's going to put you in the danger zone. If this soup came in a low sodium option, I'd buy it again, but I'll stick with amazon kitchen soup since it comes in a bigger amount and you get a third less of the sodium.
Had been ordering this for years. The broth is good and the meat seems fresh. The noodles taste as good as homemade. The problem is there is no quality control on the amount of meat, veggies, and noodles per portion. I will not be buying this anymore because my last container had only 4 small noodles and NO chicken chunks at all, not what one would expect for a product called Chicken Noodle Soup. Instead it was a bowl of broth and carrots
Previously, I counted Marketside chicken noodle deli soup as one of my favorites. For someone who doesn't cook, this is a great alternative and much better than canned soup. There's plenty of carrots, celery and a decent amount of chicken, I like lots of noodles so my opinion is skewed when it comes to that. The flavor is good, not too salty, I don't need to add anything for my taste, what's not to like right? Unfortunately, the last 6 months a distinct plastic taste and smell has been consistently part of this soup. I'm not sure if they're pouring hot soup into the plastic container to where the plastic starts to melt/break down which then gives the soup a plastic taste and smell, whatever is going on cant be healthy, so no more chicken noodle soup for me until they remedy the problem
I bought 4 of these Marketside Chicken Noodle Soup (16 oz) because it was like 3 bucks, and my daughter had a cold. I wanted something quick and comforting. She wouldn’t eat it, it looked good, so I tried to show her it was good by taking a bite myself… and I spit it out immediately. That’s how fast the plan fell apart. The flavor just wasn’t there. It tasted bland and off, and I don't know how to explain this but you know when you can smell the meat? Maybe it's a Caribbean thing, but not warm and cozy like chicken soup is supposed to be. I ended up scrapping the whole idea and making homemade chicken soup instead, which she actually ate. I wanted this to be a convenient win, but it wasn’t for us. If you’re sick and craving real comfort food, this didn’t hit the mark in our house. ps. I discarded the rest.
I ate last night and now I'm sick this morning. When food smells bad when you open, don't eat it! I actually thought spices and garlic would do the job, NOT! I'm assuming this was due to bad prep possibly spoiled ingredients prior to packaging. Maybe this entire batch needs to be thrown out. Or maybe the person packaging this item needs to be reviewed.
The yuckiest soup, I've ever had. No taste barely any noodles %26 tons of celery. If you like onion %26 celery soup, this is for you. I'm just glad I didn't buy the large one.
