I had been choosing the regular lettuce. Thought I'd try Romaine mix. I liked it better because of it had more of the dark green color crispness and possibly a better taste. It's hard to find "taste" in lettuce . It will be my choice - forward.
This is the only salad mix I buy. Everywhere I take this a salad made with this, they love it and ask what it is. I cut up tomatoes, onions and have all other salad fixings in bowls around the lettuce bowl for everyone to customize their own salad.
A good mix of romaine - very tasty. Wish (for delivery) the person picking out the bag of chopped romaine lettuce would watch the "use by" date. Sometimes I get a bog with "use by" date of the next day. Sometimes it's ok with a "use by" date 5-7 days after you get it. Love this romaine lettuce.
For years, all I bought was iceberg lettuce. Last year, it was hard to get, so I branched out. For a time, I switched to butter lettuce, which was good. Then I tried romaine. It's very satisfying with a good texture. It holds up well to salad dressing, and if you buy the packages of whole romaine , you can use them in. It's satisfying, filling and delicious. for wraps with almost any kind of sandwich. I usually buy the salad mix because it's already hopped and ready to go. I eat a salad as lunch everyday and I toss in leftover vegetables and protein, and I'm good to go.
the package was smaller than I expected. and the lettuce was so wet and wilted. I can see that through the cellophane Packaging. so I ate it that night. but before I did I put it in a shallow dish uncovered in the refrigerator and left it in there for several hours trying to move it around every now and then so it would air dry somewhat. I added a lot of other garden vegetables to it. and I used my favorite dressing on it. so I can't say it was the best salad I ever had for sure. LOL. but it did the trick. I won't buy it again.
I bought this product 2 days ago. I went to use it today, and it was already starting to spoil. It still has 2 days until expiration. All the "stubs" that do not contain any leaves had turned reddish and unattractive. I spent 30 minutes picking out as much as I could. It was about 1/4 of the bag it came in. I won't buy this again. Fresh is best, and with romaine, you'd better be quick.
This is the first time that the product is turning brown around the edges and its a bit damp. Today is 9/12/26. The expiration date is 9/17/26. The salad should not be decaying already. Do, I may eat some today to see what it taste like but I will not eat soggy lettuce. it should be crisp.
The day I ordered and received the bag of romaine, it was starting to go brown and the lettus pieces were slimy even though the exp date was June 6th and purchase date was June 2nd. By the next day the entire bag (which had not been opened) was bad. This is 2 orders in a row where the bagged lettuce was no good way before the expiration date.
Lettuce was brown and wilted the day i received it. It wasn't even close to the expiration date. I can't seem to have any luck with Walmart produce (compared to Kroger). The quality just isn't there. Not even close. I ordered this as a delivery order, and when I submitted it for a refund, I was told that I had to take it to the store. I order online for a reason... I dont want to come out there. Why should I have to waste my time and gas going out there when your shopper is the reason for my poor quality lettuce in the firat place?!
I ordered this and I received the one that expires today and on clearance. I'm sorry, but that is not what I ordered or paid for. My delivery person never texted me once or let me know it was here. Thank goodness my dog did.. I'm not happy at all .
