I absolutely love this chicken salad! I eat it all the time with wheat thin crackers. The white meat chicken is great, just the right amount of mayo, crunchy pecans, and the cranberries are sweet and tart. I know they'll stop making it someday, but I'm going to enjoy it as often as I can until then.
This stuff is delicious I wish they offered bigger containers. I bought 2 and they were gone in less than 2 days. You must eat it with Sara Lee artisan bread omg!
Looking at the container i expected a mushy mess. This was not the case. Even though the chicken is shredded its not overly wet. The mayo balance is just right. I can taste each individual ingredient and its very good. I deducted one star because it could use just a little seasoning and some more pecans, but not so much so that its a complaint
I gave it 4 stars only because something about the yogurty mayo dressing threw me off at first...then I added some cayanne pepper and it was lovely. I just wanted some eggs and I had some left over from the weekend. So...I added eggs too. It's not Newks...but it's alright for the price. We ate it on croissant rolls and Hawaiian sub buns dressed and with bacon. No one complained and there is none left....so....4 stars it is!
Why did you change it? When I saw the new container yesterday I thought to myself, "I hope the container is all that changed!" But it wasn't all that was changed. I like the original recipe MUCH better. I eat it each week (EVERY day) for lunch at work. It was better than HEB's and Randall's. Now I have to find another brand.
The name of this product is Cranberry Pecan Chicken salad. SO one would expect to taste cranberries or pecans. You can certainly see lots of cranberries- but they were tasteless! And if there were any pecans, I never found them- they must be ground up. Now understand, I very rarely review anything, certainly not negatively. But I was so let down by this product. I'm not sure how you remove all the taste from a cranberry ....
For years this was a a rich, chunky white chicken salad with tasty pecans and cranberries. It is now a grey-brown paste with bits of fruit and nut. Nearly $5.00 and it's ruined for us. Never again. Why, oh, why? would you want your Customers upset?
I had no expectations. I was expecting to purchase was I had been purchasing ( usually 2 at a time ) . I noticed that the top was not the same but bought it anyway. In comparison with I was purchasing this is Dog Food, It is SO Disappointing. I usually make my own chicken salad but was talked into tasting this when my Son had bought some. And OMGosh it was the BEST salad I had EVER had. Since then I have bought pretty much $75.00 of this stuff over the last several months. As it stands I WILL NOT BE BUYING any more Chicken Salad from Walmart.
Why did you change the recipe? It's awful now... that was the last container I will ever buy.
Apparently, Walmart no longer supplies the Premium Chicken Salad, which was wonderful! I've tried this and the White Meat Chicken Salad and both were awful! Please bring back the original Premium Chicken Salad!!!!
