I started buying this clam shell spinach because if I seal it after each use and keep it in the crisper drawer of my fridge, my last one was still very useable over a MONTH after the Best By Date!! I almost never have to throw any fresh spinach away since I started using this and I only make one salad or handful of spinach for a dish at a time. Really impressed the last 6 months of finding this so no more throwing out bags of spinach after 1 or 2 uses.
The only problem I have with this is the expiration date, I did an online order for pickup and whoever got the spinach apparently didn't notice the expiration date was the very next day. Bummer. The only thing disappointing about online ordering is associates not paying attention to expiration dates. I guess I will have to make a 2nd trip back to the store to return 1 single item.
I have noticed that "Marketside" and "Bettergoods" bakery and other products are not protectively packaged, (they are not secured with a sticker-seal). They once were. I am considering not purchasing them until the protective packaging returns. I hope they return to protective packaging because I will miss them if they do not.
Shoppers need to shop for me, like I shop. Like most people shop. When selecting any item from the Produce Section - PLEASE check what date is stamped on the item - particularly any type of leafy greens- whether in a box or bag, I will not select an item that is going to be out of date within a day or two. My bag of spinach was already “wet”, “Melted” %26 not fresh looking at all. Disappointed this time.
It had an expiration date of two days. There was no way I could eat that much by myself. I won't buy it again. I'm tired of getting things that are about to run out of date. Are already rotten and getting stuff I don't order especially when I have put no substitution. Then I have to make a trip to the store which defeats my purpose of ordering which is why I am a Plus member.
Market wise baby spicy. The was delivered on the July 7th and accordingly to the package. It was best used by July7th. Who ever picks the items for delivery should check the expiration date on packages specifically on the Produce items not happy about this. The times I have ordered any produce or fruits I noticed there are issues
Very disappointed. This pkg of baby spinach that was delivered to our house on Sept 6, also had the "best by" date of Sept 6, which was the very same date that we ordered it. When we opened it, most of the leaves were rotten (namely, disintegrating). So, we may only get 2 servings of spinach, assuming I want to take the time to pick through the leaves and salvage the good ones. %231. You should not be selling fresh produce like salad greens that expire the same day you sell them. %232. If you still want to sell that kind of product, you should sell it at a greatly reduced price (as you do on your bakery goods), OR give them away for free to customers who order online. %233. If the item is a substitute for what was ordered (which this was), the buyer should sub with an unexpired product.
I’ve never reviewed a food item but this spinach was so awful I had to warn others. A good portion of the spinach was already wilted and/or slimy when it was delivered even though it was in date. It’s supposed to be baby spinach but many of the leaves were at least three inches long, and all of the bigger leaves had weird white spots on them. Plus there were lots of long stems on most of the leaves, even the small ones. I’ll never buy this product again!
I ordered the spinach for delivery from Walmart plus. The next day I was making the soup I bought it for and when I opened it it was slimy. I look at the date and it had been expired for a while ( can’t remember how expired because this was during the winter.)
Ever since they changed the cover with spinach, stays wet and soggy. I don’t know what has happened to Walmart produce, but I’m thinking twice about buying it. It used to have a tight cover now. It has a flimsy like saran wrap that never stays tight and the spinach is just wet and soggy and unusable.!
