These are hit or miss. Either they’re super hard, mushy or just right and sometimes a combination of all three. I’ve ordered via the app and I think the shopper just grabs the first one compared to when I’m shopping, I check the quality before adding it to my cart.
It's the flip of a coin whether the people who sliced it made sure they were ripe first. sometimes it's like crunching into a sour cucumber. They don't always wait until the deep-dark yellow. It seems like they cut it and whatever they see, they package. Or maybe they're afraid to package something soft and slimy, but thats what they should be like! Sometimes I'm lucky and actually get ripe mangoes and they're so good! But it's rare.
I love mango and I have had a few good strips in most packages that I have bought. On average, the mangos used were too green and are too dry, making it feel like a waste of nearly $6. I have gotten packages that were all from mangos that were too green and the fruit was exposed too long to air causing the strips to have no natural juice. I think that Market Side should review their processing standards. Most everything I have had from Market Side has been good quality but not this.
I've tried this twice and both times the food wasn't ripe. Mango is expensive overall, and this particular container is almost $10, and at that much (is this economy), I am officially giving up on trying to get a good container. Every time the fruit isn't ripe (which means cut it when it isn't ripe), and mango doesn't get more ripe after it's cut. Honestly waste of money, but feel free to take your chances.
Unfortunately, more than half of the package was inedible, hard as a rock. some of it was cut to close to the core, and some was just unripe. I couldn't even get a fork in it, let alone be able to bite and eat it. There were a few pieces that were sweet and ripe, but not many. I'll go back to Aldi's, where their mango slices are always fresh, ripe, sweet, and delicious.
Every time I order fresh produce from Walmart, I tell my Cell I’ll never do it again. And then I just get an appetite for more fresh fruit. This was horrible. It was rockhard and sour. They should send me a refund. I think I’m gonna complain. Don’t let anyone pick your produce for you! That’s my advice.
I love mangoes, and buy them often. I ordered online and had them delivered and whoever picked them out, you can tell they didn't care to do the shopping as we all know what to look for in fruits and vegetables etc. They were dry and old.
It should be called "unripe" mangoes. These are horrible! a ripe mango isn't pale yellow or hard as a rock. Whoever thought it was a good idea to cut and package these needs to be fired.
garbage garbage garbage. ive purchased these 3-4x and EVERY TIME they are hard and flavorless. Whomever is harvesting and packaging these mangos should get a different job
Absolutely horrible!!! I couldn't even bite through the mango because it was rock hard and it was bitter and not 'ripe' at all!!! This came as a delivery so I had no idea what I was getting! Walmarts delivery shoppers apparently don't care about what they deliver to customers!! It was expensive produce that I couldn't eat and it went moldy in days!!!! I threw it out and not only lost money for the purchase but also the delivery person's tip!!!
