These watermelon chunks were fresh and tasty.

JTMLX July 6, 2025

Not sure whether I should review based on my first order, but this one was fine. The watermelon chunks were freshly cut, well chilled. I couldn’t have done better if I’d spent the time and effort myself. Besides, my refrigerator is too small to hold an entire watermelon. In the past, I have gotten such chunks from other stores which were not as fresh, and sitting in puddles of juice.

oh wow!! This pkg of cut up watermelon is the Best of the Best.. the Pros: no mess, no lugging some huge watermelon home, then cutting it up, getting rid of the rine..very convenient for 1 or 2 people ( or more) the Cons: it's a little pricey, i highly recommend this cut up watermelon- you won't regret it

I purchase the market side pre-sliced seedless watermelon weekly from Walmart. The watermelon is perfectly ripe and juicy every time I receive my order! I know a lot of customers are disappointed with Walmarts produce, but I have had no issues with my many orders from them over the past couple of years. If I do get a bad batch (which is extremely rare) Walmart always quickly responds to my inquiries about my online purchase regarding the issue with the product I bought. They make sure that I receive a full refund online instantly. People need to stop being so critical and instead focus on how the company works on making things right when a very minor mistake occurs! In my case, Walmart has ALWAYS provided me with excellent customer support and I have consistently continued to order my weekly groceries from them because of their excellent customer service.

I was starving upon opening. I scarfed most of it in one sitting. So happy the first watermelon of the year was as it should be. For those who can afford the cost of store chopped fruits and vegetables that come in a recycled and recyclable container, I say go for it. For me, it was more of an expensive meal. The convenience of fresh prepared food is a luxury for me.

Hit or miss on freshness.

Anonymous October 11, 2025

I love watermelon so I buy this when I do a grocery order. Sadly, it's hit or miss. Sometimes the watermelon is fresh, sweet, and juicy. Other times, it's slimy, has a sour smell, or just too red and you know it's gone bad. When I do a grocery delivery, the watermelon is the first thing I check. There are times it looks like old watermelon chunks and fresh have been put together into one container, essentially ruining the taste of the fresh pieces. Yes, I'll keep buying this, but I know each time I do, I'm taking a gamble as to if it's going to be spoiled or not.

This is in season now so it's pretty good texting however it doesn't seem to ever make it to. It's used by date there often too much juice on them and they start fermenting and I eat it up pretty fast so that's saying a lot. I don't know if it helped if Walmart would drain them or what

I was out of the fresh produce and fruit section. It was like it had been sitting. It was waiting in water in the juice maybe about 3/4 of it. Oh wait no 1/3 of it. There was a lot of Rhine pieces in there where it was white so it's just not good so you got mushy kind on the bottom and you have pieces and ripen pieces or pieces on the top you know then there's a few oh right fresh I mean like pieces in the middle so just not acceptable no good flavor it's almost tasting like it was getting ready to go bad so I had to throw that out so I mean you know couldn't enjoy it so

Used to be good/now spoiled and expired

JoJo August 15, 2025

I’ve been buying watermelon slices from there for quite some time and they were great. But the last few times I bought them they were either spoilt or expired. Please do something to fix this or stop selling them. It is a disappointment to my children to buy them and them not be able to eat them. I have to throw them out Because they smell so bad.

Home delivery of produce is iffy at best.

Dottiej May 29, 2026

First, I'd like to mention that this was a home delivery item. The produce was old and already going sour, with an Best By date supposedly falling on the next day from the date it was delivered. The bottom half of the watermelon was submerged in juice, with the pieces already turning a dark almost opaque color. The flavor was disgusting. I asked the driver how fresh the produce was, and he assured me that everything was fresh. Making a trip to the store is difficult for me, but had I been able to return the melon, I would have. Produce, as everything, is becoming more expensive. I don't have the budget to waste my money in this way. Picking it out at the store, would most likely result in a much better experience. I've had multiple items from this particular brand to be substandard in quality and taste. Good luck! Thank you.

Soggy soft old watermelon

nina June 5, 2026

It was sweet and old. A soggy soft taste. Which is unacceptable and Walmart shoppers doesn't care. It's not their food so they give you the oldest spoiled fruit ever. Who wants soggy old soft watermelon. Walmart needs to do better and recheck their employees shoppers online orders. Recheck the orders before sending them out. There are so many complaints and still nothing is done about it.
