Nothing will beat a fresh bagel, but if you must buy bag bagels, this one is a better than expected choice. they toast up very well and is the best way to eat these. plain is best as the bluberry version does not have enough fruit or blueberry flavor and just gets in the way of the bagel. Plain version recommended.
Not really all that great as far as bagels go. In fact I doubt they're actually bagels at all, more like bagel-shaped white bread. But sometimes I crave lox and onions and olive-pimento cream cheese and in my neighborhood this is as close to bagels as I can get in a pinch. Oh well, I guess they'll have to do.
I did not realize these were not pre cut. I am disabled and my hands shake terribly. I can't cut cut these straight. very disappointed in my purchase. I realize that perhaps keeping them in one piece helps them stay fresh on insid much longer, I guess I it's partly my fault as well now think about it before I send off this review. they also do not require being refrigerated. although I would not mind that if they were simply pre cut. I guess it's a toss up. anyway, I'm back to my old faithful brand.
So I'm doing the home delivery because I had bilateral knee surgery. I ordered the bagels today for delivery and they expire tomorrow. I'm one person at six bagels. What a waste of money they taste good I ate one today but unless I freeze, they're gonna be bad I feel that if you do home delivery for someone you should check dates as a shopper.
The bagels them selves were great. The order was not….i ordered 2 other items which ended up being out of stock and so I was charged $10 for delivery since my order didn't meet the minimum amount. If I would have known that, I would have cancelled the order al together. The bagels ended up costing twice a much!
These bagels are a fav for our family as you can see by our orders. The past 4 times I have ordered them they have not been like usual. They appear to have gotten smaller which I can handle but the taste, texture inside and out (over cooked?) and some appearing slightly burnt on the bottoms; I have given an unsatisfactory review of them based on these orders alone. Oh and it is not one specific store I rotate with the 3 closest stores to me and it is all of them.
I have bought these bagels before and they were ok, but something has changed. The texture is now very soft, like bread, and not at all like a chewy bagel. I could not cut them with my bagel slicer; it would just squish them down. My son has never turned down a bagel, but he threw half of this one in the trash.
DO BETTER AND STOP EXPECTING A TIP. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH FOR ALMOST OUT OF DATE MILK, ½ SPOILED FRUIT, ½ SMASHED LOAVES OF BREAD AND BAGELS! AND A TIP IS EXPECTED! PRETTY MUCH DEMANDED WHEN YOU CHARGE $9.95 FOR DELIVERY AND WANT US TO TIP THE DRIVER AN AUTOMATED PRE-DETERMINED TIP BY WALMART FOR SUCH VERY DISAPPOINTING ITEMS DELIVERED. AGAIN, DO BETTER! PRICES ARE HIGH ENOUGH !
These used to be a good product. Now they apparently come to the store frozen. Or they are frozen in the store and thawed when put on the shelves. The last packages have had condensation in the bag when I've arrived home. Consequently, the bagels do not hold up well. Each package has molded within a few days. I've purchased my last package.
I think it's time to stop eating these bagels… not only does it look like someone ate half my bagel (see picture) already, the freshness by date was 7/20/25.. the day after purchase?! I usually get these or the Asiago ones for my morning breakfast before work and they're both going downhill, lately I have been trying plain as the Asiago is never cooked fully and the cheese taste horrible. Now I can't even go for my safe option..
