This was my first time purchasing this frozen snapper fish. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The smell was fresh and not fishy. When thawed, the fish pieces were nice and proportionally sized. I panned seared them, and they cooked up very well. I definitely will purchase again.
This red snapper was delicious! The texture of the fish was unbelievable, you would have never guessed that it was ever frozen! This was my first attempt at making snapper it could not have turned out better!!! I Broiled it after marinating in high quality EVOO %26 Lemon Juice for a couple hours before broiling (on high) the skin turned out perfect!! I used lemon zest, roasted garlic and pepper for seasoning! I will definitely be buying this again and again!
I am from California and I've always eaten red snapper... it cost a lot in Texas I found this bad it had two large filets they were tasty and fresh. I will be buying this every week.
Best piece of fish I've had in a while! Big fat Red Snapper filets, sucks there's only two in a bag, but I will definitely buy again. Probably right after I eat the second one!
The fish cooked beautifully and tasted great. I was disappointed that there were only two pieces in the package - especially since these were portions. I don't know - I guess I thought I'd have enough to feed my little family of 3. Glad. I had some left-over chicken so all 3 of us could eat.
There's only two pieces in the package; one pack I bought had two short but thick pieces. The other pack had two longer, flatter filets. The skin still had scales on it though. I would only purchase again if I really needed snapper with no fresh options.
WE LOVE ALL KINDS OF FISH, SO WE DECIDED TO TRY SNAPPER FOR THE FIRST TIME...BUT IT WAS TERRIBLE!!! FIRST OF ALL, YOU ONLY GET TWO SMALL FILETS IN THIS BAG, WITH NO BAKING INSTRUCTIONS OR OVEN TEMPERATURE!!! SECONDLY, WE DON'T MIND THE SMELL OF FISH, BUT THIS WAS STINKY WHILE BAKING!!! LASTLY, IT WAS VERY DENSE AND TOUGH TO EAT, MORE LIKE EATING A CHICKEN BREAST OR STEAK!!! OUR FIRST AND LAST SNAPPER EVER!!!
So the texture is very dense, almost like cutting into a piece of steak, which is very offputting when you've had fresh snapper. There's only two pieces in the entire bag for such a steep price of almost $12. After the fish was cooked, it did not taste like snapper. It tasted like the frozen insides of a cheap fish stick that has been freezer burnt. I'm being very generous with this review when it comes to the taste, I couldn't even swallow the bite. I chewed in immediately had to spit it into my napkin. There's something odd with this fish lately. The Red Snapper was extremely old, dark in color,it was horrible, not fresh at all.You might consider pulling it from your inventory. If it was possible i would like a refund because it went straight in the trash
I really hate complaining and leaving bad reviews but I've gotten spoiled snapper twice now. It was gross and this grayish black color and smelled spoiled. I won't be ordering this anymore… spend a few bucks more and get better snapper elsewhere.
