Just as the doctor ordered. More protein.
The roast that I received was about a quarter of the size that is advertised in the photo thank you and will not come even close just feeding the amount of people that I needed to, I am not impressed. The app should have an option to select how big of a package of meat is wanted rather than leaving it up to chance with what is picked for them.
I cooked thos meat in a.crick pot making pot roast and i dont care what anyone says any meat will fall apart after cooking for 6 hours..well this peice of meat no word of a lie you could bounce it off my table ..i couldnt get my fork into it..and my best steak knife i couldnt cut it .i had to have my son cut it..then i tried breaking a piece off and i had a hard time..This meat was not eatable period..I think they mistakenly put a ball of muscle in the package by accident it certainly wasnt pot roast meat..this is the best meat for a.pot roast it should fall apart after 6 hours..unreal..i have 2 witnesses, i actually kept the meat i put it in freezer but it dont matter they can see what im saying when it thaws..so 20 dollars in food in the garbadge..im disgusted with wal mart right now , going to call better business..very upset..
I ordered 2 grass fed chuck roasts. One you see below, was full of blood, like a giant clot. That was way too much liquid in that package, which ups the price but it was also icky. The other roast must have started with the same amount of blood because that one leaked blood everywhere and the smell of rotting flesh was really bad. We bagged it and took it out to the dumpster immediately- have a refund pending. Neither piece said it was expired (shopper picked the meat for my home delivery order).
We always get these roasts and this one was almost all fat. It was awful. Our teeth hurt after trying to get the very little meat off it. So embarrassing serving this to our family and friends for our celebration. Do BETTER!!!
I purchased this on my pickup order and cooked it in my slow cooker. Because it was the more expensive cut, I expected a very tender cut of meat. On the contrary, it was so tough, we could hardly cut it with a knife, and we ended up throwing it in the garbage. $21 worth of inedible food!
Packaging on meat says 1.5lbs. after weighing meat in the original package and unopened, it is actually 1.08lbs. Upon opening, I notice an excessive amount of fat. After trimming and weighing 15oz was pure fat leaving 9oz of meat. Not to mention a slightly funky smell. I don't typically buy walmart meat for obvious reasons, apparently. But I was desperate.
I have purchased several of these roasts. I had 2 that were decent, one mediocre and the last 2 tough as shoe leather and bizarre looking! This is with being cooked in crockpot which renders nearly every roast pull apart tender. Will NOT purchase again!!
This package was still dripping and blood, which means they didn't process the meat properly. The meat had a bit of a beef flavor, but I don't think it's beef. It says beef, but it doesn't list anything else about it. I cooked it like a regular roast simmered it for four hours, and still was firm with strings of tendons . Normally a chuck roast will fall apart when you cook it so I cook it for four hours. This one did not I ended up giving most of it to my dog. I won't buy it again.
Cooked my roast and after 8 hours of cooking found a large rubber chunk that was in my roast. It is hard rubber.
