We buy these steaks every week and I have been very happy with one with them. Most recently we got one that was not good. It had a lot of gristle in it. I have tried to get you guys to credit it back, but I can't go through the standard refunds with it because we cooked it and then had to get the grass gristle out and we lost most of the steak with that so I would like a refund on that. It was $8.28
I decided to try this as I love grass, fed meat, etc. it was not truly the taste of a filet mignon in my opinion however, it was more like a tenderloin roast. It had excellent flavor, not a lot of fat and cooked beautifully. I would buy it in the future, but not as a filet mignon, but more as a tenderloin style roast…. I'm going to try Walmart filet mignon's next time to compare.
the original price was $10.73 you guys charged me $19.94 when the package price tag was only $17.16 please take care of this overcharge for me I'm trying to send you a photo of the price tag on the package total but it keeps telling me it's unable to complete folder image thank you
This is not what I ordered and I did not ask for substitutions you sent me two small steaks individually wrapped one of them says filet mignon. The other one says sirloin. My teeth are so bad that I can't chew the sirloin, but I think the filet mignon will work for me. What should I do with the top sirloin? Will you give me my money back on that please respond.
I was a union meat cutter for over 20 years and I even owned my own store. I don't know why meat companies say “grass fed” and consumers believe “grass fed” means good meat. It's just the opposite! The cattle are not consuming grains that make them healthy and their meats tender and tasty. Grass fed means the cattle feed in a grass pasture without any other food source, they are being starved. The fillet I purchased here is not choice grade beef, it is more like cutter canner, dry dairy cows, bulls etc. in other words waste beef!! Meat packers process these waste beef into grind meat ( hamburger) and they take out the fillet and sell it for 10 times as they get for grind beef. The fillets can be decent or they can be terrible depending on the animal it came from. Mine was so terrible I could not even eat it, I threw it out. You can purchase fillets from Walmart that are cut by store meat cutters and they are the real fillets from choice beef.
Disgusting! Gristle! 4 major peices/strings of gristle in this 0.6 lb chunk of meat. Smell! I doubled checked date - use by date 12 days out so fine. Yuck. My dogs got a few bites I could cut and the pile of gristle went in the trash. Filet mignon? Nope! This was a substitution of puck up order for Angus filet mignon, something I've had 5 times without any issues.
this was butt end of tender with tail still attached so very hard to cut correctly. found piece of connective tissue attached, so not peeled correctly. It had little flavor %26 was tough, so producer, processor, marketing-(you b call this fillet migon?) %26 buyer all failed with this product, Meanwhile we customers lay out a lot of money for this
These steaks were a substitute for the original filet mignon steaks I get and I thought because they were grass fed that they would be better. BOY WAS I WRONG. They were WORSE. They were nothing but fat and connective tissue. One of them was literally 90% fat and connective tissue. The whole reason I get filet mignon is for the lack of fat and connective tissue because it quite literally makes me gag. So imagine my disappointment when trying to cut and struggling then trying to get SOME meat off and it's just mostly connective tissue. I ended up picking off what I could like an animal and then threw away the rest disgusted. WASTE OF MONEY! Quality is NOT a guarantee.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ALTHOUGH THE PICTURED ITEM SEEMS TO BE OF NORMAL MEAT TRAY SIZE, IT HONESTLY FITS IN THE PALM OF MY HAND! MY TWO STEAKS OF SAME PRICE %26 SUPPOSEDLY SAME WEIGHT WAS SUBSTITUTED FOR THIS MORE EXPENSIVE ITEM!! I HAVE NOT COOKED IT %26:SURE IT WILL TASTE OKAY, BUT THERES NO EXCUSE FOR VLATANT MISLEADINGS!!
Terrible cut of meat! We purchase Filet Mignon on a regular basis. We have always been very pleased with the quality, Taste, and Tenderness until we received this Marketside as a Substitute. It was horrible. Full of gristle and tasted nothing like a Filet Mignon should taste. This should not be put in the same category. I do NOT recommend this product
