But when I do? Since it's just for me? I usually get 3 - 4 servings out of one of these... and I don't mind cutting it myself as (although I appreciate it) I don't know if anyone that's cut back greatly on red meat personally but maybe they don't mind a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 hunk of flesh! LOL I do love a piece of bloody rib - eye but it's been years ha ha. This is better for me. Not as much fat content, and if I feel like a 3" thick seared piece? That's about all I could handle all at once! (Ok ok I'm exaggerating just a bit but you get the idea. Enjoy it!
We have gotten these a number of times and they've been quite good. I see the reviews where people say the steaks are tough, but we have not experienced that. Our complaint is that they list the steaks as between half a pound and a pound, but they are ALWAYS right around 6 ounces. We do pickups, but it sounds like it would be no different if we went inside. On the plus side, these are very reasonably priced for grass fed and finished steaks. Again, excellent quality but we plan our meals around the proteins and these need to be accurately described.
Wonderful price for an item that isn’t easy to obtain! My only downside is the meat does sometimes smell like it’s been sitting a while even without a discounted tag. So i end up buying what I think is 8 oz fresh steak for $7, but smell them and they smell like it’s juuust about to start going foul and have to deal with that.
Item details are unclear. Range of weight per item 0.5-1.0 pound is unacceptable. I needed 1 pound and the item I received was weighed at 0.45 lbs. How is anyone supposed to know how many to order to achieve the desired weight needed, if they don’t know what each item is weighed at anywhere from 0.5 to 1.0 lbs?
Very small steak. Super thick chewy steak. Pan seared for flaver then cooked slow but steak was about impossible to chew. In fact have 2 sores on side of mouth from bitting my upper lips trying to chew the meat. Very upset about sore mouth and the swelling it has caused
My standards are NOT all that high and this product was profoundly disappointing. Took 20 minutes to sort of trim the gristle. Then realized that it was probably 50% gristle. Remainder was tough as I’ll get out. Still cooking it an hour later—trying to soften it up with broth, onion, etc with no luck. I literally don’t even think I could have gotten my dog to eat this.
whatever that was, it was not top sirloin. almost a third was one large piece of grisle and the rest had so much white connective tissue there wasn't but a few bites to be had. I've never given a bad review on any groceries before, but this was akin to false advertisement. won't buy this again and don't recommend this to anyone.
I bought two of these and will never buy them again. We couldn't even eat them; they were so gristly. We struggled, but in the end, we had to remake something else for dinner. The taste was fine, but you couldn't even swallow the bite. It was a big waste of money since they were not cheap. And of course, you can't return them now as they are in shredded pieces in the garbage. Super disappointed.
This was about the worst steak I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even eat half of it before throwing it outside for the wild animals. Air fried it to medium rare. It was so chewy that it would not separate. Had to just spit it out because it would not masticate. I cooked it longer hoping that would help, but it did not. This was chosen for me as a substitute for lamb leg steak. It’s not that it doesn’t live up to lamb leg steak, it’s that it’s absolutely inedible. Very literally inedible. I put effort into eating it and my body was not able to. It’s crap! The poor cow that it came from died in vain. Its last act of revenge was to create this inedible hunk of flesh. Don’t buy! You’ll regret it
I haven't opened it, I was expecting a larger piece of meat for a special recipe. I got everything else. Now I can't make the recipe. Hope it's tender for a 1 person serving 🙄
