I'm Greek, grew up on feta. unless it's imported, you cannot find authentic Greek feta, made in America. This Marketside brand - and I've tried them all, is the closest, most authentic tasting feta, from the ingredients to the ratio of salt to the aroma. I just wish it was not as pricey, but for the convenience of it being available whenever I want it, I'll take it. I just can't believe that Walmart's Market side offer this of a cheese, I'm so grateful. For a real treat, serve it up Saganaki style. Delicious!
This is a true Greek feta. Made with sheep's milk, this Marketside 'Greek Feta Cheese Block' gives it a tangy flavor superior to cow's milk especially in Spanakopita or a Greek Salad. You can actually use less of this product in recipes Crumbles very well. Stronger taste than feta made with cow's milk.
This isn't just Greek "style", this is actually imported from Greece, and it's made from goat and sheep's milk, unlike most of the other options which are made from cow's milk. Definitely buy this one!
The taste of this feta is so good if you allow to come to room temp. Great on salads, in Greek pasta salad or on charcuterie board.
I like the taste I tried to cut it and it crumbled. Get a fork, crumble it up. I sprinkled it in my salads, Pasta salads.
This is SHOCKINGLY good. I'm a feta snob and I usually only like one brand from a small market that comes in brine. I was unable to get there so I added this to my Walmart order based on ingredients. I added it to my salad and it's better than my previous brand, and a lot less expensive. Please don't discontinue or change this!!!
We were happen to find this cheese. Most of the "feta" cheeses for sale with all of the greek names are actually made from cow's milk and made in the U.S. I have to give Walmart credit for this one since it is imported from Greece and made from Goat %26 Sheep milk. It taste wonderful and authentic.
tastes like the way old sweaty gym socks smell. Feta should be in one block, yet this came in 2 thin sheets in one package. Quality sheeps or goat milk Feta does not melt yet this "feta" melts.
Received it- I opened it within 30 minutes of receiving and it smelt rancid. I had to throw it away /: sad that it was a $5 block of feta.
This was far worse than I expected let me explain. This block of feta by Walmart/Marketside was absolutely disgusting. I don't know if it was going bad and someone put a new date sticker on it or what but I would not recommend this product if you get your groceries delivered or set for pickup because I've tried it twice just to see if I was right or just crazy.. the cheese itself was so awful to the taste, texture and smell I called to get a refund.
