I rarely bothered with salads before I found this Marketside Romaine Lettuce. I love that it is washed and ready to eat. Since I only order groceries every 2 weeks it is the item I'm most looking forward to on delivery day. Dinner that day is always a big salad. I found to keep the lettuce fresh longer after opening to fold a paper towel in thirds and place it on top of the lettuce, then I put the bag into a Zip-loc bag, squeeze out the air then zip it closed! This keeps the edges from browning so fast..
This review is for delivery %26 pickup folks The lettuce is great if you get a fresh bag, unfortunately that only happens about 70% of the time. This is pretty much standard for all the produce! Who wants to ware time patience and energy contacting support for a bag of lettuce, grapes, oranges, tomatoes ect ect not me! I still take the chance and order sometimes but I know what to expect and want everyone else to have the same information!
Easy salad fixing - my daughter fixes herself a fresh salad to take to work for lunch each day and this is her base salad component and then adds various other sides to the salad to keep things interesting (i.e. cranberries, crispy fried onions or fried jalapeños, or a nut mix, and shredded rotisserie chicken that Walmart sells at their hot bar. Two bags a week makes for a good healthy eating experience.
Very handy versus preparing salad from scratch. However, I’ve never received a package that stays fresh until best by date-lettuce almost always turns brown. Packaging is for family’s or a couple more than for singles due to this factor, unless you eat salad every day or every meal. Other than quick spoilage, it’s very convenient and easy.
I've given up on getting any of the lettuce mixes - every time I have it delivered - it is already brown or even if I use it the next day, it is already brown, wilted or worse. I don't know if they don't get rotated or if the shoppers just don't care or can't see.
Unfortunately this particular bag of hearts of romaine have a lot of brown pieces of the leaves. With 4 days before expiring, it's sad, but I will unfortunately have to throw it out, most likely, directly into the composter. A waste of money for me. 🥺
This was thankfully pointed out to me by the associate bringing the groceries out and states I would get a refund. The entire reason for choosing this option is for an employee to shop for me, but this lack of caring by the associate picking the groceries was sub par. Wondering if the associate would have liked to eat the brown lettuce they picked out.
I wish I would have looked at the reviews, because They are all true, they were brown pieces, wilted and just yuck throughout the bag. I would not recommend this. I've also gotten other bags, it seems like all of the bags are not even worth it, because I have yet to get one that didn't have brown pieces in the bag!
With prices increasing and the QUALITY in produce decreasing. Why do we continue to try and try again. I just had heart surgery to cure the four years of a heart condition. I can’t pick my own produce. I want a refund. Cooperations are stealing our money
Walmart wanted me to take three bags of the salad that was brown back to the store instead of a credit of $3.79. I do not have a car so I would've had to take a Uber or depending on a neighbor and I'm a plus member really?
