This was my 3RD purchase and each time the actual Cake Texture has been so Fresh! I'm not sure but I think it's a Devils Food Cake Mix. The icing is thin but it is so Rich, you really don't need much more! These slices hold their Freshness for at least 3 Days (I've never been able to save any for longer than 3 Days)! 😆 RECOMMEND FOR CHOCOLATE CRAVINGS‼️
Tastes wonderful! I have purchased several different cakes like this already to eat. They all taste good and they are always nice %26 fresh!!! The price is fantastic! I will have to say that the cakes, muffins and other marketside bakery items are always very good!!!!
Good product, good value. One negative - the packaging doesn't have any kind of safety seal on it. There needs to be a label across the front of the plastic packaging, so that the consumer can be assured that there hasn't been any tampering of the product.
Well, it's chocolate cake slices with icing. I didn't notice that it was double chocolate! The taste is pretty good, but I'm not real fond of the texture. The ones I've gotten taste like they might be 1 or 2 days old. Its not too bad, but I guess I tend to compare it to the chocolate muffins, and I like the muffins much better!
The cake is awesome. But it's just OPEN! There's no sticker sealing it shut. Who knows who has touched it after being prepared. What is it going to take, someone putting something harmful in it and someone getting hurt before it's sealed? I was shocked that this is sold this way. The simplest easiest thing to make more safe and you choose not to.
I love chocolate cake. I was so Disappointed. I didnt find it moist. Purchased it to serve with a meal. Opted not to and served something else. I didnt find it appetizing. As mentioned above I thought it dry. The slices were thin(slice of bread) and very little icing. Would not purchase again.
WAY OVERPRICED! They put only 8 slices in clear plastic tray that could/ should hold 12 slices ! They lay them down and fan them out to try to make it look "full." But, at $4.59/ pkg, that comes to almost 60cents per slice!! The Waltons should be ashamed. These slices aren't worth more than 25cents a slice. Even if the filled the tray with 12 slices, they'd still cost over 38cents a slice!
my previous order was moist and very good. That's why my wife wanted to order the chocolate cake again for an upcoming event. but this was the worst we've ever purchased. not moist and very dry and not fresh even though it still had 7 days before the expiration date. very disappointed. I had to repurchase with the lemon cake or have 30 disappointed guests. a waste of money.
So disappointed in this cake! It has a cheap/artificial taste to it and the chocolate frosting has a weird texture. It's way overpriced as well. It wasn't gross to the point of being inedible, but doesn't have a real bakery taste to it. I wouldn't buy again, especially being so costly.
The cake is too dense. It's more like a chocolate pound cake than a nice fluffy cake. The frosting is like fondant. The entire thing lacks fresh flavor. It tastes over processed. Box cake mix tastes better, and you literally just mix egg, vegetable oil, and maybe water.
