The Walmart Italian hoagies are pretty good but they're not the same as in New Jersey or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I don't remember ever seeing anything like the red spicy packets on Italian hoagies back home. So I bought some olive oil, red wine vinegar, and I have a container of Italian Seasoning to put on the Italian hoagies, just like back home. The Walmart Italian hoagies also don't have all the same ingredients as back home but Arkansas doesn't have the same kind of rolls or meats. I'm still going to enjoy them though as they're close enough with the olive oil, red wine vinegar, and Italian seasoning I put on them.
I have bought this Italian sub maybe 4-5 times. Today's sub is much smaller (narrow). I can easily tell by sight it looks narrower; it takes one less bite to eat across the roll. The meats and cheese used to cover the roll side to side: end to end. The prior sub filling left a good 3/4 inch of one end uncovered. Today's left over one inch. The sub still tastes great because of the one spicy meat slices.
Delicious sub! Love the hot sauce packet. I ordered these for a last minute party! I purchased 2 Italian subs and 1 new york sub. Cut them up and threw them on a party platter tray. Perfect! And these are so good and affordable for the size! I added this on my monthly dinner menu. Especially great for weekend movie nights for ease and deliciousness! Great sandwhiches
I buy these submarine sandwiches all the time, in all the different varieties. They are delicious! My husband loves them also, and he is a picky eater. They are economical also, cheaper than buying all the different lunch meats and cheeses, and don't forget the sub buns! Plus, I dont have to make them! Just open and eat! Yum!
This is a good sandwich. Good bread and tasty mix of cold cuts. The spicy sauce packets that come with it is a nice change from the normal mayo %26 mustard. Great that deli items are delivered with Walmart , so if it is too hot to cook this sandwich is good for at least two meal in this house.
So this isn't a healthy sub or anything, I imagine it's got about a billion grams of sodium and more nitrates than you're supposed to eat in a year. But hear me out. You can cut this sucker int four mini subs, pair it with your fruit and a side salad of choice, and get yourself FOUR lunches for minimal money. Or, if you don't wanna cook dinner because it's hot or whatever, just cut it in half and share it with the LOYL. My favorite thing about it is the pepper spread, which is divine. and if you want to find something that is close to it for your refrigerator, Wickle's Pickle's Spicy Red Pepper Spread is almost identical. You're welcome.
Not a bad start on a sandwich. Add your own provalone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, sliced cucumbers, oregano, parmesan and don't forget olive oil on the cut faces of the bread, and you really have something. Toast open-faced in the oven until you have crispy edges, and you're at the next level. Does anybody like the red hot sauce that comes packaged with it? You can have mine. I would much rather have olive oil or Greek vinaigrette. I would even settle for mayonnaise.
I just go the order this morning and the expiration date on the sub MARKETSIDE ITALIAN HERO FULL SUB says June 10 2026! THE SUB HAS MOLD ON THE BACK OF THE BUN on the TOP AND ON THE BOTTOM! THE TOP BACK OF THE BREAD IS A SPOT THE SIZE OF A DIME ITS GREEN FUZZY MOLD, ON THE BOTTOM SPOT IS THE SIZE OF A NICKEL GREEN with BLACK FUZZY MOLD. GROSS 🤢. I HAVEN'T TAKEN THE SUB OUT OF THE PACKAGE IT CAME IN TO EXAMINE IT FOR FURTHER MOLD.! IM NOT OPENING IT FURTHER! Trash bound🤮 WALMART WHAT'S GOING ON? The bun can't be fresh with mold on it! Walmart explain this ?
I did not like this at all. the bread was way too grainy and the meat was so compressed together it tasted old. i didnt eat more than a few bites. i will try a different sub type next time and give these grab and go subs another chance. just not this flavor again.
i bought 2 of these Italian sandwiches and they were terrible. They didn't hardly have anything on them. The meat was very salty and not good quality at all. And the bread tasted nasty. It had a funky taste to it. Not only did I think it was bad but my daughter said hers tasted tbe same. Sure not like they used to be. And for 7.50 each I could have gotten a good meal.
