I've always loved lemon squares but the pastry crust is only on the bottom. These are very tasty and I'll buy them to eat when I'm craving something sweet to satisfy that need. The price of these has increased, like everything else, but I still place them in my shopping cart! I enjoy them. They're different from the lemon bars I bought back in the 70s/80s, which had top and bottom crusts, but they're good enough to keep me buying them. Also, I don't bake anymore. So there's That reason too! 😂
If I could eat these every day for the rest of my life and not get diabetes then I would. They’re tart and sweet and the shortbread beneath the gelatinous spread is just sweet enough without being overpowering. It’s a good mixture in the mouth with a great mouthfeel and texture. Everyone who tries them at my house says they love them because it’s a unique flavor that is both familiar and fresh at the same time. I’d comment on the shelf life but they never last one enough to find out if they go bad! If you haven’t tried them then you are seriously missing out- no joke!!
These lemon bars were so incredibly delicious! They had a good shelf life and they were very moist. It was just the best lemon bars I've had. As soon as you open up the box, the smell is there and it is delicious! I totally recommend these. I keep mine in the refrigerator. These are the best little snacks if you are craving any kind of snack. So delicious! Great value for the money.
I normally make from scratch but I didn't have time so I decided to pick these up. They did not disappoint! They are tart but not overly tart and the crust is really good too. No complaints from anyone. Definitely would buy again.
I love lemon bars and was excited to try these. The first thing I noticed was the rubbery texture and bland taste. I don’t think it is coated with powdered sugar, but maybe flour? I could barely finish one square. I wish it had more lemon taste and a softer texture. I will go back to my box mix.
I was so happy when I found these because ever since I was a kid these are one of my favorites. So disappointed, the bottom is supposed to be like a cookie, firm and crumbly. Instead, these were soft and mushy like a brownie consistency. I did not like them at all. They should not be soft and gooey on the bottom.
The freshness of the bars and the bottom sugar cookie were great. However, the sweetness of the lemon was overpowering and there really wasn’t that bright lemon flavor. It was definitely very underwhelming and, as I was craving that lemony taste, I was quite disappointed.
Just all-around NOT GOOD. The hard bar at the bottom was completely flavorless and a bit damp. Lemon filling - well, I'd bet money it was just out of those huge commercial kitchen cans. Topping? Maybe soggy powdered sugar or some other white substance. Far from worth its somewhat pricey cost. Buy the lemon frosted poundcake, instead!
Absolutely, unbearably awful! Barely any lemon topping. There was basically just the crust and it was probably three times the thickness of the lemon top. There wasn’t much lemon flavor, either. You could taste cornstarch on the top of the dessert. This was a complete disaster. I will never buy these again. I just threw them away. I figured I would have to bring the package back to refund it, so l saved myself the gas.
ratio of lemon to crust was 2/3 crust %26 1/3 lemon. it should be the other way around, or at least 50/50. the lemon was good, but the crust was mushy, even after refrigeration.
