You have to make homemade Sausage gravy using this brand! I cook it in part salted butter and coconut oil then I add dried Italian seasonings and dried basil with garlic and onion powder! French Sea Salt and ground black pepper. Add some flour but Skip the whole milk and use heavy whipping cream and a bit of evaporated milk.
I normally buy a certain brand of Italian sausage and I don't branch out and “try” others. I keep my normal brand stocked up in my deep freezer. But I had a recipe for a birthday dinner I was preparing and last minute I realized I was out of it. I did a quick Walmart order for home delivery. They didn't carry my normal brand, so I took a huge chance and gave this brand a try. I was honestly not familiar with Market side and looked it up after cooking with it because this tasted SO good! Evidently, this is one of Walmart's more premium grocery brands. I honestly had no clue they had anything other than Great Value. This was as good as a much more expensive premium brand of Italian sausage that I normally use. I will definitely be purchasing again and trying more of the Market Side products. Loving the convenience of home delivery and finding new brands!
Marketside makes pretty good ground sausage. I can't tell a significant difference in this and Johnsonville sausage. It's fatty enough, but not excessively so. And it doesn't have a bunch of gristle in it, which I hate. I use it in meat sauce for my pasta and lasagna, in meatballs, and on pizzas.
I usually use a different brand but thought I'd try this Marketside Italian Sausage when I made lasagna the other day. I thought it worked great in my recipe and tasted really good. I will buy this again, and will try the Marketside Sweet Italian next!
This is great quality Italian sausage. I used this and mixted it with ground turkey and added a jar of Great Value spaghetti sauce (mushroom I think?) and it made such a flavorful sauce! It already has a lot of spices, so you don't have to do anything special. Cooking it was easy to do, and it would probably be good in breakfast burritos as well, so that's my next recipe to try.
he flavor was fantastic and it was perfect for my cooking needs. The mild seasoning allowed for versatility in dishes, so it can be used in various recipes without overpowering the other ingredients. The quality of the pork was great, and I appreciate that it was fresh. It cooked really well and added a wonderful taste to my meals. I will definitely be buying this product again!
I have used both the Marketside brand and the name brand mild italian sausage. Marketside is good flavor and quality, you will not be disappointed. I haven't used anything but the mild because I like adding my own spices so I cannot speak to spicier flavors but the mild is good alone or as a base.
Initially I loved this item, but lately the level of sodium has been too much and I have had to add more fennel %26 other herbs to add flavor. Not sure if the recipe or the vendor making this product changed but the sodium is not good and quite harsh. I can sometimes turn it around by adding peppers, onions and a make a sauce with it. There is no need to add additional salt when you use this for a sauce. But if you're on a sodium restricted diet or just a lower sodium diet this isn't what you want. Stay away from this one. The good thing is it doesn't have a lot of fat. The texture of the grind is also good. It's great finding a bulk Italian sausage even if you have to add more flavorings to it. However, the sodium content is high and can be very inconsistent. I will use the remaining packages I have, but I likely won't purchase this again in spite of the price point. I'd do better making my own. I have used this on pizza and lasagna in the past but I had to use less on pizza and only use this with a veggie lasagna where the saltiness would not overpower the final dish. This is not appropriate for a breakfast sausage. It's just too salty.
I order manicotti shells I missed they not in my order later I received a message that they were going to be mail why I don't know the I received a notice they were delivered checking my mail box there was no package, I called 800 Walmart they said they would not replace or refund I'am handicap need to depend on pickup orders thinking about other sources
I am tired of lazy shoppers. Every time I order delivery many of my items are substituted or unavailable simply because they do not LOOK. The last 2 times I went directly try to the store and picked up the items. May not order again. Also, they don't bother to get quality produce. It's all pure laziness and getting paid for doing the bare minimum.
