it was tender, perfect amount of sweet to salty without being over poweringly sweet or too salty like most brown sugar or honey hams. the taste is like a sweet smokey caramel flavor. The only ham we buy for the holiday. highly recommended if youve never had it

This was my first experience with preparing and serving a ham like this and even though my expectations were high (after reading all the praise in the reviews here), the actual results exceeded them. I have always preferred brown sugar coated hams but tho idea of a “salted caramel” coated ham was something I just couldn't pass up. We got the ham for our holiday meal, using the free delivery service with Walmart . The ham that was selected for us was just over 20 lbs. I heated it in a glass baking dish, lined with extra wide foil to make a sealed tent, and added some water in the bottom to create steam. I followed the directions included with the ham (there are a number of different methods all labeled as “official” and posted by the manufacturer, which was confusing. Now that I have some experience, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them). For the salted caramel glaze coating, I chose the water saucepan method and I think that's better for ensuring even application of the coating and preventing burning. My *only* complaint is I felt there wasn't enough of the salted caramel coating. I prefer a thicker coating more in line with a Honey Baked Ham and the salted caramel flavor is so delicious that I would have liked a 1/4 inch thick coat of it covering the entire ham instead of a thin glaze. However, if you're looking more for a delicious infusion of flavor instead of a sweet crust, then the amount of the coating included with the particular ham I received would be ideal, I wonder if the same size coating packet is included with all the Han's regardless of size? If yes, that would explain why some reviews say there was too much of the coating (5-7 pound hams) and then my experience where the glaze coating was adequate, but I would have preferred much more (20 pound hams). Evaluating the meat, the ham did have a lot of fat in a few places (such as the side opposite the half cut) but this is no more than expected and it did not detract from the flavor, serving sizes, or our overall enjoyment of the ham. The spiral cut was done well and when I followed the slicing instructions included with the packaging, the ham was very easy to cut and serve. We saved the bone, which was full of meat, fat, and flavor. and my mother made a delicious soup from it for New Year's dinner. That was an unexpected bonus. Overall, this ham rated a 5 out of 5 in every category and it will now be a core ingredient in every holiday meal I serve. Note to manufacturer: please improve the match between ham size and the amount of flavored glaze coating so there's not too little or too much.

this is a great ham , ive found out if you don't bake this ham just heat it a bit its delicious if you bake it like on the package it has a tendency to get to dry and leftovers are awful dry I just heat it slightly or peel it off and heat it as I go and it's great that way

My child really wanted ham. This was the only ham that was available. Usually, we don't like sweet on the ham. However, this salted caramel ham was wonderful. The entire family liked it. The spiral was a little difficult to maneuver around, but the flavor more than made up for Any cutting issues.

This ham is simply delicious. I just warmed it on a low setting in my crockpot with a small amount of water which actually steamed it. It came out so tender I didn't even use the glaze! I trimmed the meat off for sandwiches for later and made a 15 bean soup with the ham bone. Delicious!

Best flavor they have in my family and I's opinion. Sweet, Slightly Salty, Savory. Told my boss about it, and he went to hunt one down, but they were already sold out for the next holiday. My only wish is that they had a boneless version, but hey, its only been 2 years since I first saw it, so maybe they will eventually.

We have bought this ham four times now, and the quality is consistent each time. It's always delicious! We don't cook it for quite as long as the package says (usually 15 minutes less per pound than directions call for). I like that I can customize the glaze topping for my family. If you are like me and prefer a plain smoked ham without glaze, you can just leave the glaze off, or prepare it and put it on half of the ham. The spiral cut makes it super easy to serve, and it looks fabulous on a holiday table.

The reason why I gave this bad ratings is because when I purchased this item it was a sale price if purachased online it was for $4.96 totoal each, I bought 2. I did not go crazy like some buyers and buy a bunch of them, it clearly states $4.96 price if purchased online. I purchased online, but I was charged a price I did not agree to or know I would be charged. Not per pound but total, Walmart ended up charging me some random price that I never agreed to and was suppose to give the difference back to me and never did. I took a screen shot once I realized I bought the last ham that was on sale and even on my e receipt it showed the price of 4.96 each. however they charged me some random price. I am still working on getting my money back. I hope Walmart can see these pics

another item I didn't receive on my order yet you guys said since I filed a claim for a refund you said I violated your return policy and you declined to pay me back for all the items that were missing out of my order I wouldn't recommend Walmart at all that anyone because of this

1/2 my order was not delivered. Every time I order there is an issue. I really should cancel my subscription but I always think it may get better. It never does. I keep it because I would rather have my items delivered than going to the store. I always think it is going to be more convenient, but it never is. I always end up making a trip to a grocery store near me or doing a target drive up for the things that do not make it to my house that I order from Walmart.
