I I have purchased this mark side, New England clam chowder fresh deli soup a few times now and I have to say that I really enjoy this. It's the flavor is so good. I will continue to purchase this every time that I go to a grocery shopping trip. I truly recommend.
I did a full pause when I tasted this soup! Wow! My brain was shocked this was store bought! Definitely one of the best clam chowders I have ever had. I'd say 2nd best ever, but THE BEST in store bought options! Only fresh bread bowl at the coast can top this! It's perfect!
This is a must try if you like New England clam chowder. Nothing like the nasty canned soup versions. This one is as good as what is served at most restaurants, but for half the price. Warning: If you are calorie conscious, you better skip this one!
This is the best clam chowder I have ever purchased and is easily as good as my homemade without the work. It makes two meals for me with a salad and some bread. i order this almost every week and only one time was it not excellent. It is usually thick, rich, nicely full of cooked diced potatoes and recognizable pieces of clam.
Marketside Clam Chowder is pretty decent, but after having local (Wash DC area) Crisfields clam chowder, nothing will ever come close, who sadly closed after 80 years, it's impossible to compare. But i'm going to try to doctor it up with more clams and seasoning and see how it turns out, but for Wally brand chowder, it's still edible, i'm just spoiled.. :)))) I'll buy it again.
to my taste, I found it to be very "bland" clams are nicely minced, potatoes small cubed idaho potatoes, with skin on, but no celery and onion; more like soup/broth, than a chowder; still, the only commercial, clam chowder, I care for is "Snow's" but price conscious
The clams were not fully cleaned or cleaned at all, I could hear sand mud like and taste it while chewing, I had to throw away after 1st chewing, hearing that mud sand taste. I'm not sure if y'all know what I'm talking about. I do love a good cleaned clam shower soup. I'm not sure if I'll buy it again because I all 3 containers of clam chowder soup had the same mud sand taste.
I've never had New England Clam chowder that I couldn't eat… until this Marketside N.E. STYLE clam chowder. Just horrible, I threw it out. The clam chowder needs a total reconstruction of ingredients. I knew right away there were competing tastes. I read the ingredients %26 it all became clear. Clam chowder is a basic soup, just a few ingredients needed (make base cream soup from corn starch, add some canned chopped clams, potatoes, celery, salt, pepper, milk… or variations). This clam chowder has like 60 ingredients and they add up to a terrible soup %26 bad for your health. I get it, but I've never seen so many ‘fish ingredients' used. From COD BONES, Haddock BONES to CHOPPED COCKLE… sea broth… haddock, cod, ANCHOVIES… It's Packed with sodium, HIGH in fat, high carbs, EVEN TRANS FAT! The best thing is it has 20g of protein, good iron %26 potassium mg. Make your own ,
I was really in the mood for some good new england clam chowder. This was the 1st time trying marketside soups, I purchased 4 different flavors. This one is terrible! The potato pieces were mainly blackened and hard, no matter how long I heated the soup. Lets get to the clam pieces now, the pieces I came across were extremely gritty and rubbery. I agree with others, this should be just named potato soup, and even then its a very poor representation and quality potato soup.
I eat seafood but not fish. From the minute I opened this container of clam chowder, it smelled extremely fishy. Upon reading the label, it has fish stock in it. I normally make homemade clam chowder and I use clam juice. I had to throw this away. Also I don't know what some of that stuff was that was in there. It was like mystery parts. Read the label it's gross. Total waste of money and my appetite's is gone for dinner tonight. All I could taste was fish.
