I was surprised by how good this was for a pre-made sandwich. The bread tasted fresh, and the mix of meats and Swiss cheese gave it a solid deli flavor, especially the pastrami. It was filling and had a good amount of meat, although mine was put together a little unevenly. Overall, it's a convenient and satisfying lunch option without the price of a sandwich shop sub.
It's just bread with some cheese and meats inside. It's packaged nicely and comes with one squeeze packet each of yellow mustard and Duke's mayo. What you have to do, to turn this plain item into a really yummy sandwich experience, is make it your way. I had ordered arugula to put in it, but the store had none and I wasn't allowed to choose a substitute. Luckily, I had a bunch of Walmart's beautiful flat leaf parsley and a jar of Mediterranean olive salad, along with my preferred Kewpie mayo and Dijon mustard. The addition of pickled green tomatoes was pure lagniappe. Here's what I did, for an incredibly delicious sandwich experience, my way: All my sandwich experience needed was, from the bottom up: Kewpie mayonnaise Mediterranean Olive Salad Flat leaf parsley (no stems) —Meats %26 cheese— Pickled green tomatoes Flat leaf parsley (no stems) Kewpie mayo mixed with Dijon mustard The half-size serving was perfect. All it needed to go from “ordinary” to exquisite was what I already had in my fridge and pantry. So, be like that fast-food chain and “have it YOUR way!” You won't regret it!
I really like these sandwiches. The bread never gets soggy and it seems pretty shelf stable. and there is a variety of meats and cheeses to pick from. I always seem to grab one of these when I'm done shopping, so I can have a little something on the way home. lol Good price too. I've never had a bad one.
I thoroughly enjoyed this sandwich. Half a sandwich is all I needed. Paired with some soup. They both hit the spot. The bread was nice and soft. Will be purchasing it again. Was very convenient to eat. Hey we just want a late lunch or dinner this sandwich is for you. Appreciated the fact that I could add my own toppings to the sandwich. Great value!
Husband takes these for his lunch and loves them. Just meat and cheese but have a good amount of both on them. Makes great hot sandwich as well. In the beginning we had a hard time finding them that were not within 1-2 days of expiration, but it has been much better lately.
It was in all honesty better than I thought it would be, my one major complaint is they send One pack each of Heinz Yellow Mustard and Dukes Mayonnaise but no Italian Dressing at all which I have never seen done with a sub before and was very disappointment. The Heinz Yellow Mustard has no place on any sub with the possible exception of Ham and Swiss but I would have liked more than one small package of the Dukes Mayonnaise, it made for a dry sub and I had to go to the kitchen and get out the Miracle Whip so I could swallow the sub as it was dry. In fairness I have to point out that I do have an esophagus problem that makes swallowing difficult if something is dry but this was beyond that, the sub with the one packet of Mayo was simply to dry for most people I think. You may want to take that into consideration if you are going to take this on a trip and be sure to grab a few extra packs of condiments of your choice at the deli, I ordered mine from Wal-Mart.com so I did not have that option. If I had not been sick the night before and had been trying to eat light I would have ordered two of these as a full meal, I do not think one is enough if being eaten on it's own, but may be better if also eating something like chips with it.
I enjoyed this sandwich. I usually get the Italian Sub, but decided to try this one. Really like it a lot. Comes with a packet of mustard and Duke's mayo. Wish it did come with lettuce and tomatoes, but still a very good option for a quick bite at a very good price. The bread was fresh, not wet or anything. We get these sandwiches often and have not yet be disappointed.
This is one solid deli sandwich available at Walmart. I personally also like the American sub, but neither has any vegetables available. That is understandable but be sure to have greens tomatoes, onions, other condiments, etc. available for a more healthy option. As is, it makes for a lovely toasted sub in the oven, and you can add your own dipping sauce or au jus heated up for the occasion. Heated up for the occasion. Bon appetit 😋
I tried to get a refund for this product because of the shelflife on it. It is a sandwich that was freshly made from the deli, but – when I got it, the life on the shelf life was short, and I can't put a sandwich with lettuce in it in the freezer so I would like to get my money back and my refund I got it delivered to my home and I asked for a refund but they're telling me to turn it in and I don't have a car to turn it in so I would like a refund because of the shelf life.
I didn't order these, and I don't eat anything on this sandwich. I did a pickup order, and I was not notified if I wanted a substitute item and I got home and found 4 of these sandwiches when I ordered 6 Turkey and Swiss cheeses sandwiches. I was very disappointed
