Onions

Terrie April 2, 2026

What can I say, at one time from childhood I would remove onions from as the dishes my mom cooked. I have learned to appreciate the taste and add them to most of my potato and meat dishes. Love them and found that after you peel them just place them in ice water and you won’t test up when you chop them by hand

Fresh, firm, %26 unbeatable value for Organic!

SaveAllGodsChildren December 9, 2025

I am usually hesitant to buy bagged produce because I can't inspect every single item, but this bag of Marketside Organic Yellow Onions was a pleasant surprise. Every onion in the 3 lb bag was rock hard, fresh, %26 free of any soft spots or bruising. They are the perfect size for everyday cooking, NOT too huge, not too small. I’ve used them for everything from caramelizing for burgers to bases for soups, %26 the flavor is exactly what you want: sharp %26 crisp raw, but sweet %26 mellow when cooked down. Buying organic produce at this price is rare, so this is definitely a new staple on my Walmart shopping list. Highly recommend if you want quality without the high price tag!

For us they last longer in storage!

Danny October 8, 2025

I think these organic onions last a few days longer in our onion bin than the regular bagged onions. Before we were having to throw away perhaps 20-30% (2 to 5) onions of the regular onions before we were able to use them all with our dinners. One time the regular onions were 'out-of-stock' so we purchased these organic bagged onions and they lasted in our household for a month and we were able to use them all....so since then we have switched to the organic styled onions and I don't think we'll go back. We think the flavors are comparable.

These are NOT yellow onions.

SpicNSpan May 28, 2026

These are NOT yellow onions. These are either sweet or Vidalia onions depending on the time of year you buy them. Yellow onions last longer than the sweet varieties. I wish they would correct the listing. The listing and the product description do not line up.

Order these, get a different product (at my store)

Anonymous June 14, 2026

This product (organic YELLOW onions) is listed on the website but I have never seen them at my particular Walmart superstore (6140a University Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35806). What they do always have at the store are organic Vidalia SWEET onions (a different product) which is NOT listed on the website as being available. If I order these organic YELLOW onions (asking for no substitutions) then what I receive are the organic Vidalia SWEET onions. The system doesn't see it as a substitution; they apparently think they are sending exactly what was ordered. But sending sweet onions when yellow onions were ordered is like sending plantains when bananas were ordered. They are different products! And here's the kicker: If I initiate a return they refund my money and tell me to keep the onions. So essentially anyone can get organic Vidalia SWEET onions from the store FOR FREE by ordering the organic YELLOW onions and then receiving a refund when the store sends the organic SWEET onions instead. I don't want to do that because it seems dishonest, and besides, I DON'T WANT the sweet onions (which aren't even listed on the website). I want the organic yellow onions that ARE listed on the website as being for sale at Walmart, but apparently never make it to the store although inventory thinks they have!

I was only able to use a couple of onions out of this bag. Molded, THEY ARE MOKDED! What wasn’t molded was soft. Hope I don’t get sick from eating what I did eat!

Poor quality and incorrect item I ordered.

Anonymous June 18, 2025

Poor quality. I ordered organic yellow onion but received poor quality Vidalia sweet onions, neither fresh but stale and incorrect yellow onion as I’ve ordered for pickup. I witnessed in-store today poor quality.

Always wrong item shopped...Always.

KRC June 17, 2026

If I ever received the organic yellow onions that I ordered, then I'm sure the rating would be much higher. They ALWAYS put in organic Vidalia-sweet onions instead. Shoppers NEED shopping training to teach them the differences in items ordered. I DO NOT choose substitutions for any of my orders. I am tired of complaining about this. Nothing is ever done about it. Poor Walmart management for sure. Most all other items that i order are fine most of the time. I don't understand why reading the label and viewing the picture isn't enough to clue the shopper for the correct type.....I have had the organic yellow onions when I shopped other Walmart stores....I just never get the correct type from the Foley, Alabama store...EVER.

Huge onions in a 3 lb bag

anonymous September 4, 2025

This is the third 3 lb bag of onions. Expecting at least 6 or 7 onions I keep getting 3 or 4. They are so tough I an 88 year old I can't cut them. The last bag finally went into the trash because the one I was using lasted so long it became unusable. These onion are ok for onion rings in a restaurant but not for me.

Unfortunately, some of the onions were rotten inside when I opened the bag. Very disappointing quality, especially because they looked fine from the outside. I had to throw several away.
