Wow! This felt like it could be a $18 entrée at an Italian restaurant. Very impressed with the quality of a take n bake calzone from the grocery store. Great flavor. Love the crust. A little bit greasy, but that's how you know it's filled with lots of pepperoni.
I have not been disappointed with this calzone, and I've purchased it many times. I consider it a great value for my money…lots of large slices of pepperoni, gooey cheese, and the crust is delicious. A bonus is that you can microwave it and it's never been soggy. Would recommend!
I love that it's a quick easy meal when you're in a hurry or don't feel like cooking. I cooked mine in the air fryer and it turned out okay. The crust was a tad rough, but I'm not sure if that's from the air fryer or not. I prepared the ham and cheese turnover the same way and it came out perfect. It was very salty I'm sure due to the pepperoni and sauce, but I'm sensitive to salt. All in all, if you're craving pizza and in a hurry, this is great.
Good taste. And good crust. Just not portioned equally. There's only marinara sauce on one side and the pepperoni seems to be right in the middle only and the cheese on the edges. Wish it was more mixed together that way you'd get a bite of pepperoni, cheese and sauce all together.
looked forward to trying this since i like the flat breads and there was plenty of pepperoni, crust was ok but not 1 ounce of cheese box says a mix of mozzarella and provolone there wasn't any of either
The brand of calzone Walmart was selling the last couple years was good but there were a lot of complaints when the pepperoni was found wadded up in the middle with an uneven distribution of cheese. So I had high hopes for this new item and I am confused why the don't call it a calzone. It has a greater sprinkling of Italian herbs on the outside and the same ingredients. The dough is a bit less enjoyable than the last brand which had a nice chew. This dough is more dense and whiter and it didn't want to brown. Mine had a big chunk of high quality cheese in one end only - the other end had a very thick blob of Italian type sauce. In the middle was only meat. I like to cut these in half and dip them into a cup of Italian flavored marinara sauce before taking a bite. That's what really makes it sing Italian to me. But the thick center wad of meat is frustrating. The production line quality control people knew this was happening and did nothing. PLEASE hire a human being to pack these pockets evenly!! How hard is it to evenly apply the thick sauce and then fold layers of pepperoni and cheese in an elongated shape so they span the length of the inside? It ain't rocket science. After I hear this issue has been fixed I will once again start enjoying this calzone once a month or so.
Nowhere on the package does this mention marinara or tomato sauce it says cheese and pepperoni! not only was that a very unpleasant surprise given that I ordered these because there's no tomato sauce on them. That was straight tomato paste with some Italian seasoning and extra basil. Clumpy and packed in the corners. Please bring back the original calzones! Do better on the quantity of cheese and put the sauce on the side as a dip cup! If you're going to add gross tomato paste at least list it as part of the ingredients on the front of the packaging so it's not false advertising and an unpleasant surprise!
Horri ble, horrible taste. I took one bite and spit it out. Threw it out. totally uneatable. package was plastic wrapped and in individual box. Will NEVER buy this again.
Plenty of pepperoni. Otherwise I was hugely disappointed. Crust was flavorless cardboard, minimal cheese. I had four bites, then tossed it out. Not recommended. Marketplace does have some good soups and other items though.
Waaaaay too much oregano! thats all i can taste. wasnt crazy about the bread either. very disappointed in this turnover.
