Delicious!

Alyssa February 23, 2026

it's like a sweet French Onion Soup married my favorite ramen bowl with thicker yakisoba noodles and I'm so here for it. We have ordered it multiple times and even posted reviews on social media because we love them so much. looking forward to see what other Udon bowls come out next!

Rich, Savory, and Worth Buying Again

Karina February 12, 2026

I haven’t had udon in a long time, so I was really excited to try the Marketside Ready to Heat Beef Udon Bowl. If you enjoy thick, chewy noodles, this one definitely delivers. It comes with udon noodles, broth, and beef, making it a convenient and satisfying option. The beef was especially impressive — very delicious with a slightly sukiyaki-style flavor. The broth was rich and flavorful, complementing the noodles perfectly. If you have extra toppings on hand, additions like soft-boiled eggs, sliced green onions, sautéed mushrooms, bok choy, spinach, or even a sprinkle of sesame seeds would pair really well and make it feel more like a complete restaurant-style bowl. Overall, I really enjoyed this bowl and would definitely purchase it again.

Not the salty style

Rhonda November 20, 2025

Texture of noodles is best if only cooked for 3 minutes and then eaten immediately. Tends to have mushy noodles otherwise. I love the slightly sweet taste of the broth and IS NOT spicy. I add dehydrated cabbage and other veggies just because I like them. I buy them 5 at a time!

Being Japanese and living in Bullhead and hoping to find good Japanese food do not go together but Walmart’s Marketside Udons are pretty ding dang close to what my Bayan (grandmother) would make. This Beef Udon’s broth is extremely similar to Donburi broth so I was pleasantly and happily surprised. The udon was so satisfyingly filling. Thank you Marketside behind the scene chefs!!!!!

Almost as good as restaurant udon!

Robert June 28, 2026

I *am* Japanese (American), and lived there for years. Udon is a comfort food. So this really hits the spot for me. My only complaint is that it's difficult, cutting the packages of meat open. I wish there were an easier way. But I deal with it. And buy 2-3 of these a week.

Needs rice.

Madison April 27, 2026

Flavor is really good! It’s like gyudon. This would be a lot bigger over rice than udon noodles. I have eaten a lot of udon noodles, and the texture of these ones is just subpar. They heat up terribly and the soup does not cling well to them. The soup and beef are very yummy, a little too sweet but after you continue to eat it you get over that. Overall, would be better as a rice bowl.

Kylie April 24, 2026

This used to be my absolute favorite quick meal. But recently, they just haven’t been as good as they used to be. I don’t know if they changed the recipe or what. But the last few times I’ve bought them, it seems like the noodles just won’t cook all the way through no matter how long I cook them for. Very disappointed, because I was obsessed with these for a long time. They seem to have less broth than they used to, so maybe that’s why the noodles won’t cook all the way through. Or maybe I’ve just gotten a bad batch the last few times. Idk. But I really wish they would go back to exactly how they were when I first started buying them.

Lita April 27, 2026

I previously tried the Tokyo shoyu ramen bowl and that was so tasty I wanted to give this a try. But this udon was so underwhelming and disappointing . If I could give this zero stars I would. The “beef” packet was basically mushy meat. There wasn’t enough broth to cover the noodles so parts that were sticking out during the microwave process dried out or didn’t cook all the way. The taste of the broth was so so, but couldn’t make up for any of the other misses. Not worth the hefty price tag. Picture included is right after cooking and mixing together. No bites had been taken. You can see the texture/size/pieces of the meat. That is exactly how it came out of the packet.

Not good

Anonymous May 10, 2026

I gave the Marketside Ready to Heat Beef Udon Bowl one chance. I wish I could get my money back. The packaging is well done. The gravy is sweet. The noodles are waxy. The meat is not as pictured on the packaging. It looks more like cat or dog wet food. Seriously...! I took a couple of bites and dumped it in the trash.

Artificial bad taste don't waste your money

Jasper June 4, 2026

The flavor was really artificial and the noodles were too thick . It was bad. Unless you're willing to add your own seasoning but the one it came with was artificial. I disliked this a lot . Sad I was excited for it and disappointed in my work break to taste this.
