Super easy to make a meal during a busy week. I microwaved it with some bbq sauce for tacos and it was actually delicious. Some reviews here said it was very fatty but I don't think that's true at all. I'll get 5 meals out of this for $9. The image shows exactly 85g worth of protein, the serving size.
Great addition to buffet for summer holidays - just mix with your favorite BBQ sauce and keep warm in crock pot. Self serve on buns with GV mayonnaise and pickles or your favorite condiments. This should be a keeper at Walmart! Nice change from always chicken.
I buy this to make my pork barbecue recipe. It is just the right amount for me. It adapts well to add whatever seasoning you want. This saves me from buying a pork roast, cooking it, and shredding it. Fantastic time and trouble savor. I have not tried it by itself so I cannot address the taste on it's own.
I use shredded meats to make burritos. This one is not as seasoned as the frozen type I usually buy, possibly not seasoned at all. I did find a couple large chunks of fat while assembling burritos, so luckily it did not touch my mouth. If you are using it like pulled-pork, you have to get your hands dirty and feel for the fat clumps. I would not just dump the package into a soup or casserole for this reason.
I love pork, love pulled pork, won't buy this again. I honestly thought, this would be good dog food. See pulled pork should be flavorful, right? Nope, this lacked that taste one expects of food. The bigger pieces looked like there was connective tissue that made it chewy and unpleasant. The smaller pieces were alright but there was no taste to write home about. This had none of the love a cook applies to the craft, just cranked out some food and there ya go. I bet I could have gotten better food had a child cooked it and threw random seasonings in, at least then I could say it had a flavor.
This pulled chicken is used from the rotisserie chickens that aren't sold when they're fresh. I wouldn't ordinarily care and it doesn't bother me that this avoids wasting food, but in my local store the chickens tend to be a bit over cooked even when they're fresh come out immediately after preparation. Since this is left over chicken that was dry under the nest of conditions, these get a hard pass from me. Maybe your local store does a better job in the deli. Even if that's the case, the markup on the pulled chicken from leftover rotisserie is extremely high for repurposed chicken.
I didnt approve this substitution and it cost twice as much for half the size of what i ordered!! I kept the meat and no one will eat it because its absolutely inedible and disgusting.. need better communication with shoppers within the store! SO DISAPPOINTING WALMART!!!!!
Hands DOWN the worst pulled pork I've ever had. Please don't get this. Any of the cheap premixed stuff is better. It was gross chunks of light and dark pork that you literally couldn't even pull apart of chew and fat and gristle. How are they selling this? Never again Walmart!! Even covered in Bbq sauce it's disgusting.
I knew their chicken was pure gristle, so I decided to take a chance on their pork, as that generally has less gristle, but nope, apparently they found the one pig that was pure gristle. I presume the pork is mechanically separated, but what kind of machine is so inconsistent? About a third of it has been reduced to powder, then there's these six inch long whole chunks that are impossible to chew.
it tasted very weird almost like it was bad. it was filled with fatty parts and had cartlidge which i dont even know how pulled pork has cartlidge. all in all it was a waste of money, i tried tobfeedbitbtobky dog but she didnt want it and i had a stomach issue about 2 days later
