These little cornbreads went beyond my expectations, they were so yummy and flavorful. My niece loves cornbread she usually is the one to eat the leftover slices when we bake them on our own. We bought these for convenience and I don't think we're going to make our own for a while now, lol. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 🤤
I was pleasantly surprised with the texture and overall quality. I thought it was a bit pricey since it does taste a lot like the Jiffy mix, which I usually buy, but I went ahead with 5 full stars since it's so handy to buy ready-made in a time crunch. It is SWEET cornbread. I was raised on sweet cornbread made from scratch in an iron skillet, so I'm accustomed to my cornbread this way, but this sometimes tastes as sweet as cake.
I could not believe how good these were. I got them with low expectations, and was very pleasantly surprised. The texture is light and fluffy, and they have the perfect amount of cornmeal crunch to them. AND there's a few bits of corn inside. It was perfect as is, didn't need to toast or butter it. It's got the tiniest amount of sweetness, but I really like that in my cornbread. I'll be buying these again!! Now I have to make some chili to go with them.
This goes so good with homemade stews, soups and anything crockpot. I like both WM cornbread but they were out of the smaller cut portions, and this substitution was actually quite good. A little more cake like in texture, but tasted the same as the other, which my whole family like very well. The only con, pricing. At nearly $5 will only buy once a month as a splurge, can make at home for under a dollar. You pay for convenience as we all know. Super good just plain also.
Tasty, very sweet, cakey texture. I liked that it was presliced and packaged nicely. Although I was a bit too sweet for me abd I prefer a denser texture, I would buy it again. I also purchased the 4 muffins, that were my favorite. Less sweet and more texture and substance to them. I recommend those highly. Give both a try and find your favorite.
Somewhat overpriced, but tasty occasional ready to eat treat. Texture is 'gooier', more moist, tends to fall apart, (NOT a denser dry cornbread). Flavor definitely Sweeter than regular cornbread. Has whole kernels of corn scattered throughout- you either like this or not. I prefer 'regular' dryer, less sweet, firmer bodied cornbread. My family likes this sweeter version.
THEIR CORNBREAD MUFFINS ARE PERFECT so I thought these would be the same. Almost, but they all had an unfortunate aftertaste and bits of real corn. Although surprising, the corn was just fine but that aftertaste was just too much. I started in on the second piece then decided to throw both package contents in the yard for the night time critters to enjoy.
I absolutely love cornbread… A layer of butter over a piece with a glass of milk is perfect for breakfast. I got this and wasn't happy with it. At the most I would recommend this as a replacement but not as a first choice. It taste great, soft and moist but it's made with real corn. Every few bites I kept spitting out pieces of corn that was baked into it. The pieces are unchewable you can only swallow the pieces like a pill. So as a first choice I would avoid.
I was not impressed with this cornbread. I didn't like the consistency or the flavor. This cornbread was very sweet and I did not like it whatsoever. I personally do not recommend this cornbread. It did not go good with the chili that I made. No one in my family liked it either. We ended up throwing it away.
I liked the cornbread but it was extra sweeter than i expected. The bits of corn in it were not appealing to me either. The texture other than that is fine. It really is a great combo if the sweetness was turned down a notch and there werent bits of corn inside the bread.
