Perfect tea! This is the only tea I drink anymore.

Sarahklena December 14, 2021

This is my absolute favorite! Living in the South I drink sweet tea every day. I know good tea. No, this is not your normal syrupy too sweet tea. I used to buy Chick-fi too sweet tea. I used to buy Chick-fil-A sweet tea occasionally to drink at home, it's good tea. I also used to brew my own tea and became the sweet tea bringer for all family gatherings. Not by choice but I still oblige. I've regularly used Lipton, Luzianne, and Tetley tea bags for years. No matter which of those brands I used I started to notice a musty old flavor in all the sweet tea that I brewed. I tried steeping for much shorter periods of time, tried steeping in hot not boiled water. Nothing helped. No I wasn't using an old tea making apliance. Just heating water in clean pots on the stovetop. I thought maybe those tea brands were cutting corners and just didn't taste the same anymore. I resorted to trying several very expensive brands of tea bags for making brewed sweet tea. They had a better more quality flavor but I still noticed a little of that musty tea flavor. A couple years ago I decided to try Walmart's sweet tea. It met all of my requirements. It was real brewed tea (not instant), zero preservatives, no added flavors (like lemon), and sweetened with real sugar. Just normal tea. My very first impression wasn't the best, but only because it didn't taste like what I am used to. Quickly it became the only tea I drink. Here's why I love this tea. It's not too strong, it's not thick or syrupy, it's not too sweet, and no weird musty old tea leaf flavor! I know most of the negative reviews are because they say it's not sweet enough or that it's watered down. It's not watery, it's simply not as strong as some people are used to. It has enough sugar, it's just not sickly sweet. Everytime I drink brewed sweet tea from Chick-fil-A or McDonald's I get headaches, this Walmart tea does not. Walmart please keep making this tea, it's perfect! Sometimes it has a plastic taste from the container it's in but it's not bad enough to stop drinking it. That's the only thing that could be improved. I hope it's never reformulated to be stronger or more sugary. I can have some every day without my head hurting. This tea is perfect and fresh tasting. It's simply real brewed tea. Just water, sugar, and tea. With those ingredients it can't possibly be as bad as some of the reviews of it I've seen.

Not that great

ethan222 September 18, 2020

Tastes "eh" it definetly tastes very dark. Honestly isn't that great. The bottle is also very thin and cheap and when I opened it and went to sip, as I held the bottle it basically crushed in on its self and poured all over me. I didn't squeeze the bottle.

Mostly Moldy

Michele November 24, 2021

I used to buy this tea knowing it would be fresh and quick to go with lunch. Now it is revolting and tastes like it was made with moldy water. I think it has made me physically ill once.

Walmart should review this product for QC issues

g October 20, 2021

Tastes like dirt/musty. It was terrible. Something is off with this sweet tea. I've never tasted a sweet tea this off, and I've been drinking teas for years. Others like it, some don't. I feel like if anyone drank what I had, they would be disgusted. It was like the tea was bad. I think there may be issues with this product. Walmart needs to check this out.

I would like a replacement.

Angie November 6, 2022

I buy these bottles of tea all the time. They are usually very good. One of these bottles though, I had to pour out. It tasted like someone poured mouthwash in it. The seal was on the bottle so it must have happened wherever it was made at. The is the first and only bad experience I've ever had with my favorite Marketside Sweet Tea.

Disappointment

Lindsey February 3, 2021

It used to be good! Now it tastes like old raisins with a hint of mildew. Had one drink of it and dumped the rest. Very disappointing, won't buy it again.

Absolutely terrible, every time.

Moo July 13, 2023

I've made the mistake of buying this tea from several different stores over 2 years and every single time, without fail, it has tasted worse than the plastic bottle it comes in.

This tea is not good at all. It tastes nothing like tea , and it leaves a horrible after taste. Taste moldy, and the aftertaste reminds me of carrotts.

Do Not Buy

Eners March 3, 2018

This is the worst tea I've ever tasted. It has a strong metallic taste to it. I poured it into a glass and was shocked at how horrible it was. I thought maybe the glass had dishwasher residue still on it, throwing the taste off. I then took a swig straight from the bottle. Still very bad. I don't know if I just got a bad batch, but I am not willing to find out.
