This fly rod is a very good beginner rod. I bought it as my first fly rod and it's been amazing so far. It casts well and the fly line is of good quality. A major plus was the metal reel. Overall I would recommend this rod to anyone wanting to try out fly fishing.

Bought it for my 11 year old, and he loves it. Haven't heard any complaints. I loved the price cause it's half the price of any other fly fishing rod.

fly rod.
very fun fly fishing rod well made. the reason i rated it the way i did is because there wasn't detailed instructions for it and it doesn't cast very well. but still a fun rod to learn on.

Buy a better starter combo!
I used this set to get back into fly fishing. Third time using it, the reel broke. Very disappointed! Spend a bit more money to get a longer lasting set.
