The rash guard is just as described. It's vibrant %26 we like the design. My son will wear it camping by the river or fishing with his dad. I haven't washed it yet but I'm assuming it'll be good in a cold wash. For reference, my boy is almost 7. He's about 50 lbs %26 normally wears size 6/7 shirts in reg not husky. I ordered him 10/12. He says it fits perfectly.. not tight %26 not too loose. I think he'll get 2 summers out of it. Couldn't tell you if this “runs small”. It will depend on your kid's usage %26 personal body build. But for what it's intended in providing UV protection, I believe it'll suffice.

My nephew was so excited to receive this shirt and wear it at the pool. He loves it for the cool design, and I love it for the sun protection it provides.
