Marvel - Daredevil [BLU-RAY]

The tone of this film is really helped with the Blu Ray format. The directors cut adds a bit more to the movie, which I enjoyed. Lots of bonus features which is always great.

Great deal on a blu ray. I wanted the director's cut because I'd heard that it made up for a lot of the shortcomings of the theatrical version and it did. I'm not a fan of the art work on this version. I prefer the original that came on the DVD. That's the only nit picky thing I've go to say.

Of all the main Marvel superheroes, Daredevil is one of those that I have traditionally liked least. While my opinion has been upgraded a bit on the positive side by this movie, the real star is Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios. She is a very well-trained athlete/fighter, capable of holding her own against Daredevil and even the deadly assassin called Bullseye. Ben Affleck's performance as Matt Murdock/Daredevil is average at best, completely overwhelmed by Garner and Colin Farrell as the powerful Bullseye. These two powerful foils that battle Daredevil and then each other are what make the movie as good as it is. Michael Clarke Duncan plays the powerful crime boss known as “Kingpin” and his performance is also in the average category. It is a rare occasion when the supporting role alongside the main character merits a movie on her own, this movie is an existence proof that it can happen. Natchios is not a Robin to the Batman of Daredevil, she is an independent superb fighter that could handle any ordinary criminal(s) with relative ease. One important point is that the obvious vulnerability that Daredevil has is used by Bullseye in their battle.

I like the movie, don't get me wrong. This was pre-MCU and it wasn't near the quality of the newer Marvel movies. I liked Ben Affleck as Daredevil /Matt Murdock and was happy to see this movie again after having only seen it once when it was first released in theaters in 2003. Unfortunately, it's hard not to compare this to the much better (in my opinion) Daredevil tv series from 2015 starring Charlie Cox which had the benefit of being part of the larger MCU series of movies. Still, it was a real blast from the past and I recommend it to anyone who is a true Marvel fan.

A good take on Daredevil, though it chooses style over substance.

If you hated the theatrical cut of the film, this one isn't a drastic change from it. It's a little darker, a little more violent, with a slightly expanded plot. Overall, I enjoyed it a little more than the theatrical cut. It's not the greatest super hero film ever made, but it's an enjoyable film if your expectations aren't over the top. I'd give it a solid C+ in the super hero genre. The blu-ray looks and sounds good.

Good cast. also very entertaining,for those of you how love action pact movies I will recommend this one.
