I couldn't find an answer but here's my answer: YES, the opening is big enough for your hand to get in there and clean it. The old 1 I have, I have to use a brush and it just doesn't work as well as being able to get your hand in there to clean (I brew a LOT of ice tea which stains and leaves residue.) The lid, to me, is a little hard to get off so I don't put it on all the way. It's very heavy so just beware. I'm used to my old one that was less than half its size.

This is a beautiful picture! I was so excited when the Walmart delivery folks dropped it off. I’m trying to use less plastic so I’m going to keep cold water in my fridge and add a little fruit to it to make it a little healthier. Exactly what I was looking for and you can’t beat the price and it’s big!

I have been looking all over for a 1 gal glass pitcher just like this. It is thick, sturdy, a great shape, doesn't take much room like the others, and it costs a lot less than other pitchers I have seen. The lid is ok but I don't use it so it doesn't matter. I use saran wrap to cover the pitcher for total covering, and saving time not having to wash the lid. I pour liquid out of it with normal speed (without lid), and it doesn't spill as some other reviews mentioned. It is a great pitcher, the best there is, exactly what I had hoped to find.

Wow this is a great pitcher, the whole thing is very solid and the handle is perfectly placed and in proportion. Such a great buy! Everywhere else wanted at least double the price for a 1 gallon pitcher! I love it so much, I bought another. The silicone bumper guard does not stay on, but it's not really a necessity, it doesn't affect the function. I saw they make half gallon pitchers too. I may get those also I'm very pleased with this company's products.

Pitcher and handle are of heavy thick glass very well made. Top is made for a slow pour, must be removed if a fast pour is needed and turns for a seal during storage. The silicone band on the bottom of the pitcher is useless as it does not stay on. Other than that it is a good sturdy pitcher. I recommend.

The lid is more so designed for limiting exposure to external elements than for pouring, but I like that it has a semi-snug fit although it is not a leak proof style lid, as there is no silicone rim so there is no tight seal, I still like the overall aesthetics and functionality. If they made the poor spout a little bit deeper (tapered wider and a little more protruding) and upgraded the lid this would be an across-the-board five star product. I bought this in both the half gallon and gallon sizes and intend to use the smaller ones for things like milk and juice and the larger ones for lemonade, tea, and water. I have large hands and I love that I can fit my entire hand in the smaller size due to the wide mouth opening, which makes cleaning super easy. Plus the silicone base on the bottom being able to be removed is perfect as well as great for stability to keep them from sliding on smooth countertops like marble and granite.

I want to love this pitcher, I really do - its the right size and shape to fit in my fridge perfectly. It holds 1 gallon, so I am not forever making new drinks. BUT...it leaks each and every time I pour from it. It runs down the side and ends up making a mess on the counter and my fridge

Very great quality, thick glass. Extremely heavy though if you're a child or someone who doesn't have great arm strength, but the number one complaint is it pours the tiniest stream ever out of the lid , it takes forever to get a full glass, but love the look and quality of the product

Definitely thick enough. It wont break while you are putting ice in it from the ice maker, that did happen to me with another brand. The spout is to small though. Barely works with the open part of lid and without the lid its hard to use without dripping or spilling especially when it is full.

If you want to waste the drink you make in this pitcher and a headache this is the one, the lid does not pour very well and you waste half of your drink just trying to fill a cup.
