Heats up quick and does the job, only down side is that it's a little tricky at first to tell if the butane was lit. I was struggling with a pinecel 2 to solder a couple of wires and after 20-25 minutes gave up. Then I grabbed this iron and was done in 2 minutes.
It has a good feel to it. Easy to hold and to direct where I want it to go. I haven't done any actual soldering yet, but it does melt the lead-free solder that came with it. I mainly bought this torch for use with shrink tubing, which task it handles very well. All in all I'm pleased with my purchase and would recommend it.
fits in your hand perfectly. fast heat up easy to refill love the case holds everything like extra tips
ive only used it once, but it worked as designed similar to my old power probe brand. I like that it has a larger heat shrink flame deflector, so i can use it on larger wire bundles.
it's a really nice kit and he took really fast in the different tips that are included are handy but I wouldn't recommend it for beginners
almost everything is good about this soldering iron. The only drawback I can see is that the fuel tank is not large enough so it runs out quicker than I would like. other than that, awesome product.
took very long time to heat up sporadic results even when at operating temperature . difficult to determine whether the gas ignited warranting another piezo electric strike. butane inlet seems an odd diameter, couldnt fill it without it leaking out a lot of gas. i wanted to like this product since the brand is well known for quality tools.
I should have paid more attention. When I saw "cordless soldering iron," I should have read the details. It's really just a fancy BIC lighter with a soldering tip that runs on butane, meaning it has an open flame. I wrongly assumed "cordless" meant it had a rechargeable battery. I missed that it was a butane lighter. You can check the advertised page to see what it looks like; it matches the pictures provided there. I won't share new pictures since that would be unnecessary.
it wouldn't heat up enough to solder small wires at 45 degrees when sheltered from the wind. had to get a corded soldering gun to complete the repair.
I used the soldering iron once and it would not stay lit finally got done with that job and went to use it and it will not light to get hot
