Masterbuilt 40 inch Digital Electric Smoker with Window and Legs

I bought this almost 2 months ago and have used it twice. It shipped quickly and easy put together. The temperature control is excellent and works well. I have made excellent brisket and burnt ends that my family and friends have raved about. I was able to easily fit a 13 packer brisket and 2 points (same shelf) easily on two shelve, leaving 2 free. The clean-up is relatively easy as well, as you only need to wipe it down with a wet towel to remove excess residue.

I bought this smoker about a month ago and I’ve used it 4 times. It works great. I’ve never smoked anything before so it was very nice not having to tend to a fire to keep a constant heat. The meat probe is a great feature and so is the Bluetooth capability. I had heard some smokers come with temperature gauges that are not totally accurate but I verified the meat probe with 2 different thermometers made by different companies and they all read within two degrees of each other. The light is also a great feature but it should be noted that it is located outside the door seal of the smoker so it only illuminates the inside when you have the door open. This may sound silly but if you think about it, if it was inside the smoker it would get covered in grease and smoke stains anyway and it wouldn’t work. My only complaints about the smoker are the following: the wood tray is very small. I find you really need to watch the smoke output and add new chips every 20-40 minutes depending on what brand chips you are using and how large they are. Also the instructions/owner’s manual is not very good. It’s great for the assembly portion but it doesn’t tell you how to pair it to Bluetooth, it simply says “follow the directions in the app” and it doesn’t give you instructions on how to really use the smoker in terms of letting it get to temperature and then making sure you have water in the pan and how open the vent on top should be etc. it’s worth mentioning the instructions in the app did not work to pair my smoker to Bluetooth. I had to look at a forum online that said some older models used a different pairing method and that one worked.

I now have two 40 inch Master Built smokers for twice the amount of Kielbasa and Smoke sticks. The first one I bought about 3 years ago and have no problems with it. I bought another to double amount of products that I make. Use whatever natural wood you want (free range organic from local woods) and not the pellets or pucks from who knows where.

I simply Love Everything about this Smoker. Having a little trouble loosing Bluetooth feature at less than fifteen feet away. Heats up Quick and Temp is right on with my instant read probe. First Pork Butt yesterday in 20 degree weather with 20-30 mpg wind. Worked Great with no temp drop. This is my second Masterbuilt Smoker. Had a 30 inch for 10 years. Smoked so many things from Hot Dogs to Turkeys. I finally wore it out. If this Smoker gives me the Service and I think it will I'll be a Happy Smoke Master. Very Well Made and Great controls. Love it so far.

Yo, if your into smoking, this is the Ticket! I upgraded from the 30" without the stand or wheels & it is a must as you get older & harder to bend all the way to the ground. With the 40" on wheels & stand, Light, Blue Tooth & Meat Probe, it upped my game to a Pro! I also added the Side Smoker, which does Cheese & Poppers out of this world! I loved this so much, I ordered a 2nd one for my Son & a 3rd one for a co-worker! They call it MASTERBUILT for a Good Reason!

I ordered this to replace my old electric smoker, so far, I am liking it. I have used it a few times for ribs and chickens int he past month. Everything has turned out as it should. Looking forward to doing some butt roasting it this spring and summer.

It's very good even in cold temps! We used it in our garage. WIH DOOR RAISED ALITTLE. all winter in Shakopee Mn.. with a 1500 Watt heater, with exhalent results, even with temps in the single digits, with jackets on. and could have gone lower, but we wimped out at lower temps even in our garage! It's a great smoker, although it is only 275 degrees temp max. I wish it had a larger burner and wood burner trey. That said I would buy again and recommend to family and friends!

I’m a first time smoker buyer, and am very happy with the 340G! The ease of use of the electric smoker is great, and it produces a nice cabinet of smoke. The construction is solid and it was easy to assemble. The controls are good, but hard to read in the full sun. The internal temp probe is reasonably accurate - about 10-15 degrees F off. You will need a separate multichannel temp probe. I smoked a full packer brisket and some trout so far and they turned out great. You do have to add wood chips every hour or so, but that’s okay. The temp has to be monitored anyway. When it got windy, I got temperature spikes and had to play with it a bit. As long as the external wind is reasonably constant, it seems to be pretty stable from a temp perspective. It’s easy to clean, and easy to use. Great smoker, particularly for a beginner like me.

I received this as a retirement gift. I've never had a smoker before. I've done a beer chicken, several racks of ribs, and a port butt roast. The ribs were great using the 3-2-1 method. The smoker never quite reaches is maximum temperature of 275 degrees, about 260-265. For the chicken, even though the temperature probe in the thickest part of the breast said 165 the thighs were mildly undercooked. I wanted to make pulled pork of the pork roast but after 10-11 hours of cooking the roast only got to 165.

Overall great smoker, but in the short time I've used it, I've had stalls in my smoking. The first problem was the temperature gauge got stuck at 300 degrees so the electronic smoker would never turn on. The next the smoker wouldn't turn on despite having a temperature too low. In both instances, I was able to unplug and plug it back in. Having to constantly keep an eye on the temperature defeats the purpose of it being automatic...
