Masterbuilt Bluetooth Smart Digital Electric Smoker, 30"

The Unit works very well for my needs. I was replacing a 40" Masterbuilt that finally died (from neglect, not a defect). I really would have preferred the extra room that the 40" provides, (I thought my old one was a 30"), but this one looks to suit my needs. I seldom smoke anything bigger than a 10-12 pound turkey, and it will do it.

Easy assembly, easy to use and Bluetooth works perfectly. I actually mountednit on top of a 3 drawer stainless cabinet for easy access and cleaning. Very happy with everything!

This smoker is amazing and I've been using it constantly! Temp control, the app, Bluetooth function have all worked well. I've read some of the reviews and let me give a tip on how to use the Bluetooth bc you'll miss it in setup if you go too fast and unfortunately, it's not listed in the manual. Press and hold the “set temp” button until you hear a beep. *boom* you're connected. With the app, you can watch and check the temp and decrease and increase right from your phone! No more standing around in the cold! Lol! Wood chip tray make look small but it gives the perfect amount of smoke for great flavor. I would have to agree with another comment though.. a “beep” when the temp has been reached or when the timer is done would be great but I'm not too much bothered by that. Great purchase!! Enjoy!!

the improvement I would suggest is that the Bluetooth app have an minor alarm (beep?) when the time is up or the temp. is reached. But the functionality of the unit is very good.

The smoker itself works well. I didn't want the window because I knew it would be useless after one use, but the Bluetooth feature intrigued me. So I spent the extra money and purchased it. Money wasted and Masterbuilt will not offer a solution.

Reason I purchased this item in the first place was it was suppose to be Bluetooth. It isn't. When I tried to download app, my phone is not compatible. I attempted to contact Masterbuilt both by phone as in the instructions noted and wrote an email to Masterbuilt. After a week I have not been contacted. Do Not Purchase this item, its a ripoff. Like I said main reason for the purchase I wanted more or less hands free smoking. Haven't used this to smoke anything yet, still upset that they falsely advertised this as Bluetooth.

Remote temp prob indicates 297Ff when internal temp is 71F. After3 or 4 hours internal temp is down to 136F, and set at 225F. $90.00 for a new control panel, not worth the money. My Old Smokey (made in Texas) kept perfect temps, to bad I gave it away.

I too bought this thinking the blue tooth function, and pairing with my phone would be great! But it will not pair with my phone. So I pull out the manual and read the instructions. The instructions are not even for this unit. I shows some button to push and hold, that is not even there. Crappy!!!

I bought this smoker to replace a Masterbuilt smoker that I already own. My old one had succumbed to the weather and I figured it would be nice to upgrade to a nicer model with a meat thermometer and Bluetooth. Assembly was a piece of cake. I plugged in the smoker to run it through the break in and Bluetooth paring. The break in was easy but paring it with my phone was impossible. I downloaded the app and installed it on my phone. The app currently has a 1.7 rating on Google Play Store which is the lowest I can ever remember seeing. The app started but it would not link the smoker to my phone at all. I went to the “help” link that Masterbuilt has set up on their website and it was ridiculous. It offered no help at all. Then I went on line to see if somebody else had the same problem I had and if they could offer advice. That was when I learned that the Masterbuilt Bluetooth is pretty much universally hated because it is so bad. I also learned many people have been complaining to Masterbuilt about the app for more than 2 years and Masterbuilt has done nothing to fix or upgrade the app. I paid for a Bluetooth smoker, the app is what sets this smoker apart from other smokers, and it doesn't work. I can not justify giving a Bluetooth smoker with non-functioning Bluetooth any more than the lowest rating possible. Masterbuilt should be ashamed of themselves.
