I've had my MasterBuilt Gravity 560 for about a month now. It's literally as easy to use as an oven. I smoked about 40lbs of salmon and lake trout on it with alder and lump charcoal. It turned out amazing. I baked pizzas on a stone, roasted peppers, and grilled burgers & chicken wings. They all turned out great. I also bought the rotisserie accessory and roasted some chickens with hickory and charcoal which tasted way better than store bought. This thing does everything. I love the charcoal hopper but hate the coating inside because it keeps flaking off. That's really my only complaint. I had some shipping damage which customer service quickly sent replacement parts for. I'm the happiest griller on the block.
Haven't cooked on it yet, but did install & test it and it was painless and flawless. I don't have the time nor patience to modify my grill to fit a generic unit. Quality is on the upper scale of its price range.
It is a great attachment to an already amazing grill. To install it, it's literally only 3 screws on one side and then you attach the motor to the other side. Then slide the bar in and it works like it should. My only word of advice is: If you are going to do a chicken or anything that needs to be "tied together" with cooking twine, i would tie it AFTER you put the meat on the metal rod. I tied up my chicken nice and tight, but then after i put the metal rod through the chicken, there was parts of the chicken that would hang low or was loose. If you tie the meat after you stick the rod through, you can make sure everything is secure to the metal rod and the two metal spikes are secure and ready to go. Otherwise like i said, a fantastic attachment. Can't wait to roast a turkey for thanksgiving!
Works ok, there are some issues with metal expansion which bins the rottisserie. There are some YouTube videos out there to show how to fix.
A good rotisserie, but only holds up to 10 lbs only. Unfortunately, thanksgiving turkey 2024 didn't make the cut due to it being 18 lbs. ended up grilling in pan and was still a great success!
Used the Rotisserie on my 560, set up was a breeze. It works great. The only thing I noticed was the nut was backing out on the motor side, interior of smoker during cook time. I had to use the provided wrench to tighten. This happened a couple times, but not a big deal.
First time cooking with it the rotisserie drive inner piece galled and froze up in the outer sleeve which stuck the motor and caused a bad noise from the unit.I turned it off and back on and the motor reversed and turned backward which caused the nut and drive piece (now stuck together) to rotate counterclockwise which unscrewed the motor retaining nut. The good news is that the unscrewed nut freed up the stuck drive head and it finished the cook, but with the nut flopping around. After it cooled down I took it apart and found the galled/stuck screw and drive piece and after using a hammer and drift to separate the pieces I filed and sanded the galled knot off, added some high lithium grease and put it back together. Works fine now good thing I'm an ASE Master Auto Tech.
Overall seems like a nice kit but the sleeve that goes through the smokers lid and attaches to the rotisserie motor has imperfections on the inside causing the motor to bind up and not turn I did notice this until after I tried using it for the first time. I was able to find the burs and file them down so that it spins freely. Hopefully It didn't stain the motor too much to make it fail prematurely.
This part of the grill broke the first time we used it. Didnt last 10 minutes so that was disappointing. Googled it and it seems to be an issue with a lot of people
Rotisserie motor stopped working the first time I used it. Worked for 30 min.
