This salsa is the next best thing to homemade. Good blend of spices, not watery and not too chunky. Just perfect in the heat. Not too hot and not so spicy you can't eat it. Also for the price it competes with the other good brands that are often $7-8

This salsa is seriously so good. It honestly tastes like the kind you get at a restaurant, not something from a jar. The medium is my favorite—it has just the right amount of heat without being too much, and the flavor is really good. I end up going through a jar way too fast every time I buy it. Definitely a go-to!

One of the rating topics was "heat" which is kind of weird because I'm reviewing their "medium" salsa. Perhaps they're asking if I think it lines up well with the "medium" range. It does. I'm usually hot salsa sort of person, but I look after my elderly father and he prefers mild salsa so medium is our compromise. Mateo's has good flavor. This is probably going to sound like a strange thing, but I originally took to it because it reminded me of the salsa from a restaurant that's no longer in business called "Tia's". It's got a good consistency. There are no big pieces of onion or pepper disrupting the texture. It's still nice and thick, but it's been blended down to that it doesn't look like a salad in tomato water like Pace or On the Border salsas do.

this is hands down the best off the shelf salsa you're ever going to find. I would compare it to most restaurants. it's probably better than almost any restaurant salsa. it's incredibly good considering it comes out of a jar and you can buy it at Walmart, Costco, and other places. I would definitely recommend it if you want an easy salsa and you don't want to make 2 gallons of it. that's the only way you can do it at home usually perfect balance of heat and flavor. I suppose you could add a little something to make it hotter if you wanted to but it's got a nice level of heat. I would give it a level 3 eat comparable to any jalapeno

I'm telling you what you try this salsa you're not going to go back to all the other sauces. It's a little pricey but I see why. It's definitely addictive. I will never go back to any of those well-known salsas They don't compare to this This stuff is so yummy and will make anything you put it on to extra good.

I suspect this is one of those polarizing foods; you're either going to love it or hate it. It's definitely not the typical chunky-sweet that is most American salsas. Bright, tangy, with a definite cumin hit to it. Pro tip: add it to your chili recipe. You're welcome.

This is the best salsa i've bought from Walmart. This doesn't taste just like Pace, which most do. The medium has just the right amount of spice w/ flavor…it's not just hot for no reason. If you want more spice…add a little Cholula hot sauce to this. Try it warmed in the microwave too. Peak value.

I had an expectation that the salsa was going to be out of this world and it's just ordinary. there is no spice whatsoever there is no texture, no chunk. and it just tastes like garlic and tomato. it's not bad if you like a mild mild salsa but it's nothing to write home about

I tried. I really did. I even said “it's healthy salsa” I wanted to like it here and there, I wanted to like it EVERYWHERE. But I digress, I must attest this salsa is not the best. You should probably try the rest. Do not purchase this you see it beings regret to you and me. This will not satisfy any of your needs. Your hunger cravings will remain indeed.

I grabbed a jar of this because of the reviews and I have tried many store brand salsas so gave it a try. So, it is OK I suppose, but it had much of a salty vinegar taste and had too much of a cumin taste as well and It was very watery. It shows “medium” for the heat, however it was more mild if anything compared to other “medium” brands I have tried so based on my first impression I don't believe I will getting this one again. So far, it seems the only brand far that has been a mainstay for me has either been Pace medium chunky salsa or even the WM brand Great Value medium Chunky.
