Mateo'S Gourmet Salsa Hot, 16 Oz

As an almost 60 year-old native Texan who puts some kind of hot sauce on everything I eat, I think I am pretty qualified to rate salsas. This is THE BEST I have ever eaten. Seriously. It may/may not matter to you, but this is a smooth, not chunky salsa. I have always gravitated toward the chunky ones, but will try, and eat, both. Mateos has so much FLAVOR. It is nice and garlicky, and has good, but not over-the-top heat. It is equally good on scrambled eggs, chips, tacos/burritos, salads- whatever. My favorite taco salad dressing is now mixed equal parts of Mateos salsa and Ranch dressing- such creamy goodness!. SO good on a salad with taco meat or rotisserie chicken! My only complaint is that I cannot get it at Kroger- I must make a special trip to Walmart or Costco (no- not Sams Club) for it. But it is worth the trip!

Mateo's salsa is always a win. It is just spicy enough, but not too spicy, flavorful without being too salty, and it goes well with any type of Mexican food. I highly recommend this salsa for all your Mexican food needs.

It has a good kick without being so spicy that you can't enjoy it. I really liked the chunky texture, and it was SO good with tortilla chips! I also love that it wasn't overly salty. This is definitely a salsa I would buy again! And the packaging is cute what girl doesn't like spicy red!

The heat is definitely kicking and pairs well with sour cream if you need to cool it down! Perfect for parties and sure to be a fan favorite. The consistency is great for those who love to dip and scoop. It has a nice aroma that leaves your mouth watering.

The flavor is quite good, I ate it in tacos and burritos, it was delicious, I thought it would be spicier but no, it has what you need to keep wanting a little more.

It has the same great flavor of the original with some balanced heat that is not over the top and would probably be enjoyable for someone who likes mildly spicy salsas. I tried it with tortilla chips first to get a good gauge of the heat; then, I added about 2 tablespoons to a chicken burrito bowl and it was a great compliment to the creamy jalapeño salsa I also used. Aftertaste wasn't overpowering and let the dish shine though! I'll be on the lookout for this at the grocery store next time I need some salsa.

It tastes super fresh and uses a short, simple ingredient list. It's a thinner salsa (which I prefer) but still packs tons of flavor. I had it with tortilla chips, but it would be great on anything you want to add a little spice to. Definitely a new fav!
