Mateo'S Gourmet Salsa Hot, 16 Oz

Mateo's salsa is always a win. It is just spicy enough, but not too spicy, flavorful without being too salty, and it goes well with any type of Mexican food. I highly recommend this salsa for all your Mexican food needs.

As an almost 60 year-old native Texan who puts some kind of hot sauce on everything I eat, I think I am pretty qualified to rate salsas. This is THE BEST I have ever eaten. Seriously. It may/may not matter to you, but this is a smooth, not chunky salsa. I have always gravitated toward the chunky ones, but will try, and eat, both. Mateos has so much FLAVOR. It is nice and garlicky, and has good, but not over-the-top heat. It is equally good on scrambled eggs, chips, tacos/burritos, salads- whatever. My favorite taco salad dressing is now mixed equal parts of Mateos salsa and Ranch dressing- such creamy goodness!. SO good on a salad with taco meat or rotisserie chicken! My only complaint is that I cannot get it at Kroger- I must make a special trip to Walmart or Costco (no- not Sams Club) for it. But it is worth the trip!

Mateo's. Perfectly blended with the right amount of heat. Great in the morning with eggs or for happy hour with blue chips.

if you don't have the spice tolerance of a child\non person of color, this is not for you. i am trying to find a store bought salsa that is both flavorful and spicy but not to the point where theres no flavor. this salsa is somewhat flavorful, but has a strange aftertaste that seems like it could be from the lemon juice concentrate. the aftertaste isn't that bad to the point where i can't ignore it, but it is there. i wouldn't buy this again and would find something that's actually spicy. there is no heat or any sort of a spicy taste.

The flavor is good. It's not really spicy in my opinion. Nothing special that I'd prioritize buying again.

Lacks true, authentic salsa flavor. On a scale of 1-5, rated it 1 for Heat/Spicy b/c it's very mild. Disappointing, unfortunately. =(
