Definitely use the equipment to screw to the wall otherwise its not sturdy and is super wiggly.

Do Not Buy
Personally as a mom of 3 I do not recommend to buy this bed at all. I bought it in December and not even a full month in 1 of the railings broke then a week later another loosened and now 3 months later it feels extremely wobbly (the top bunk) despite all screws being nice and tight. I get paranoid itll snap and my middle get squished between beds. Before the obvious Qs no more than 1 child sleeps or has ever been on the top bunk at once also none are allowed to play up there. Its strictly there for my oldest to have more kid
