[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hot Wheels building set is amazing; it allows my son to build it and customize it differently. The '62 Chevy pickup looks amazing, and my son loves every step. It's very easy to build, and the directions were easy to understand. This building set is a great toy by Mattel, my son stopped using electronics and built the 62' Chevy pickup concentrated. This is a great Hot Wheels building toy!
My brother in law and I have been searching for this set for the last 7 months. I finally found two of them on the shelf and grabbed them both (one for him and one for myself). Our wives left us alone for the day, so we decided to build them togther since him and I are man children who loved our Hot Wheels growing up. The build itself was a lot of fun. It took us roughly 7 hours from start to finish including food and ibuprofen breaks (don't build this on the floor if you're over a certain age). The details are incredible from the body style all the way to the modified engine. My favorite part of this build (as with my other Brick Shop Hot Wheels builds) was that final step when you set the metal plaque in place (that always makes me smile). I have absolutely no complaints or criticisms to give. It was just a fun build all around.
My 7yo received this for Christmas this year! He just finished building it last night and boy is he proud!! We were wondering if there's a light kit available for this model. Thanks for a killer set! We hope to see a slammed ‘66 Chevy Suburban in the future ;) (black with a white roof)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very detailed and realistic.lots of fun to put together. Displays great with 1/64 scale comparison everything fit together as it should and the directions were laid out clearly and concisely the parts all fit properly without any trimming needed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fun to build. Easy instructions. Able to customize the truck and play different ways with it. The engine is really detailed. Could make a neat display item as well. The hot wheel version is included. Would highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This build was so fun to make. I enjoyed how easy it went together. There are so many moving parts from the hood to the doors and even the tailgate opens. It's really nice. I love the teal surf board.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son absolutely adores building things and Hotweels, so a Hotwheel you can build yourself was a double bonus! The brick shop build was challenging but easy enough it kept him entertained for hours of screen free fun. They literally thought of everything in the details. My son was laughing hysterically at the crank decals for the windows on the inside of the truck door. The fact that it is customizable with a hot rod type engine and different rims for the tires makes it even more fun. There are even extra decals for personalization, but my son gets a little overwhelmed by extra stickers so we didn't use them. The matching metal hotwheel is a great bonus. Overall a big hit in this house!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome Lego set! Challenging, but not too challenging. Love that it came with options for customization and a hot wheel version of it too! Child had lots of fun putting it together and trying all the customizations.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome build. It was fun and while some steps were comfinsing and had to be reviewed I'd say not bad. It was a little hard for my 13yr old bit with guidance and help went togeather easly. Its a very pretty piece.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised to find that Hot Wheels had a building set of their cars!! While I'm not exactly a car person, I do like building sets. I couldn't exactly pass up an opportunity to build a classic truck. I know that the big building block brand has a classic truck, but for some reason it didn't appeal to me as much as this one did. This is a really nice set. The box is very appealing, especially with the included Hot Wheels version of the truck. Graphics are really nice, and the quality continues with the numbered bags and the instruction manual. The instructions are clear. For any step I was unsure about, the next step usually provided additonal clarity. I liked that the identified pieces in the step were clearly marked (e.g. 2 x 6 in addition to the image). I do feel like these pieces are a bit softer than the big brand's block, but they are solid once put together. The pieces are pretty glossy, and while I haven't tried it, yet, are most likely compatible with the other company's blocks. Each piece is clearly marked with Mattel. I'm still trying to figure out the tool included, but I'm sure I will whem needed. Overall, these are really fun. I'm hoping to see more classic cars, which is what I'm more interested in.
