Maud's Dark Hot Chocolate Instant Packets, 16 ct, Instant Hot or Iced Chocolate - Just add water

After years of drinking great coffee across Europe and the Middle East, I've become pretty skeptical of bold marketing claims, especially when caffeine content is nowhere to be found. Too often you end up paying extra for pods that only deliver around 90mg and leave you wanting more. A friend recommended Maud's Double Caffeine Coffee Pods, and they turned out to be a pleasant surprise. One thing many people don't realize is that roast level and caffeine don't go hand in hand. Darker, bolder roasts are cooked longer, which actually reduces caffeine. That makes it tough to find a coffee that tastes strong but still delivers a real kick. Maud's does a solid job balancing both. The flavor leans toward bold and satisfying, especially if you enjoy a richer, darker cup. While I prefer the deeper boldness found in Kirkland brand's Pacific Bold dark roast, these Maud's pods offer more than double their caffeine content. I've always leaned toward strong Italian style espresso, even straight quad shots, so I appreciate a deeper profile. What really stands out is the transparency. These pods are listed at over 200mg of caffeine per cup, and it feels accurate. A couple cups in the morning gives a noticeable, steady boost without disappointment. In a crowded market, this one actually delivers on both taste and performance, which is harder to find than it should be.

The hot chocolate pods delivered a smooth, velvety chocolate flavor. I love the taste of them. They are so easy to use too, just pop one in and it's ready in a minute.

I love the flavor and aroma of this coffee. I am a 2 cup a day coffee drinker so the extra caffeine per pod is a tab bit too much for me. My husband and some of my friends drink coffee all day. They absolutely love Mauds Double Caffeine.

Easy to open and pour packets. Fast dissolving powder makes a rich, flavorful cup of hot chocolate. I enjoy mine plain, with whipped cream, or with some added rum or vanilla flavoring or real liquor.

This cocoa tastes good but, even after thorough washing, seems to leave a lingering chocolate flavor on the next cup of coffee. Not a complaint because I love coffee and chocolate together, but it may be a consideration for others.

The chocolate taste certainly isn't as good as a packet of hot chocolate mixed with hot water. Could be the Kurtis machine having done so much coffee it infused that into the hot chocolate.

The taste is a little inky, maybe because of the concentration . . . also, not all of the mix drains out of the pod . . . . Mixed with coffee it's pretty good . . .

I use them on a keurig at the lowest setting for water. The taste is weak. It feels as if I was drinking flavor tea instead of hot chocolate. I ended up opening two pods straight into a hot cup of milk and that's better.

Based on the reviews I had expected to enjoy the hot chocolate. However, the flavor barely tasted like chocolate. And despite my attempts at doctoring it up with milk and even cocoa, there was no way I could get any value from this product. I was very disappointed to say the least.

I wish I could give this awful drink (cannot even call it chocolate) ZERO stars. . . worst hot "cocoa" I have ever tried in my life, and company wouldn't refund. Very disappointed.
