My Mum will celebrate her 90th Birthday in September and has been wearing your Tempting Touch for as long as Ok can remember. She never goes out without her make up on and is rarely seen without her Tempting Touch.
I was going through my mom's makeup box and found this compact. She had barely even used it and she let me have it. I used it that night to set my foundation and oh my gosh do I love it! I used a beauty blender to apply it to my face and not only does it pick up on the sponge better than most other pressed powders that I use, but I love the color and the finish of the powder. I can't stop raving about it!
I buy this powder becuase the inside fits vintage Stratton powder compacts (the later ones). You can carefully prise out the powder tray with a knife. I didn't expect to have to buy separate puffs now but I hope they will last me a while.
Like many other people it seems, I buy this as a refill to use in a vintage powder compact. But there is too much glue used now to remove the metal case without damaging the powder.
Like many others, I've been using this product for many years, but was disappointed recently to find that there was no puff or transparent film. Further my attempts to get it out of the plastic container resulted in powder all over me and my bedroom floor. I had to crack the container and damaged the powder in the process. Max Factor - your customers are clearly feeling very let down. Don't you think it's time to wake up and smell the coffee?
I like to use a compact since receiving one as an 18th birthday present, and the traditional instructions put a pin in the hole to remove refil do not work against super glue. Infact it bends the pin. I eventually got the powder refills out with a nail file and tweezers but not without cracking and loosing some powder if they are no longer designed to go into a compact it should say on the outside of the container.
I've been using Max Factor Creme Puff for over twenty years... The last one had the sponge applicator missing, and I was annoyed with myself, as I then realised it wasn't sealed, so thought somebody must've stolen it from this one in the shop. I've just bought a replacement, and checked the shop to make sure it was sealed. It wasn't, and had no sponge. I checked a few more on the shelf, and none were sealed, or contained sponges. I've now seen all these complaints for the same thing! What's more annoying is, I've just applied it and it's not even the same color... Yet it's meant to be! It's always been a nice rosy type colour, and now it appears grey and depressing on my face! Max Factor I want you to reply to this review, and issue me a full refund please. I am not happy, and will be finding a new product in future!
I have been very satisfied with this product since I started using it as a teenager and would have given it *****. However, since Max Factor have removed the puff and stuck it down so firmly in its plastic case that they have made it virtually impossible to use it as a refill for my own Stratton compact, I will have to stop using it and find an alternative product, if I can. I've bought three recently and all three have ended up cracking and crumbling into what becomes an unusable powder which falls out of the container all over my drawer or handbag (see photo). Also, as there is no replacement puff, I'm having to keep washing the original to reuse it, but that won't last for ever! Why are companies so deaf to the complaints of people of my generation? I'm in my 70s but, strangely, still care about my appearance.
Been using for 30 years; Not only has the puff vanished, the case is now glued in so tightly it's impossible to remove and use as a refil without it breaking up. Unusable
Having used this compact powder for many years, as did my mother before me I am now wondering if you have changed the format for the product . The last 2 refills purchased from Boots have both broken up as soon as I start to use them. Photo attached. I've never had this happen before unless I have accidentally dropped my compact. Which has not happened with these refills. I'm in my seventies so shows how long I've been using the product! Would love your comments on this. Thank you
