Max Strip Paint & Varnish Citrus Stripper 32oz

The MAX STRIP varnish remover works great and doesn't smell as bad as other brands. This one wasn't the orange one that has more of a liquid consistency. This was white and thick and had more sticking power than the liquid. You still have to lay it on thick and will probably take a couple of applications but it worked really well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this last week as a way to remove the gooey sticky gunk stickers/labels leave behind. It works amazing for that! I also wanted to remove the paint off of my kitchen cupboards in order to refinish them by staining them. It works well but you do need to put a little elbow grease into it. The smell is great to which is a bonus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did the heavy work so I didn't have to! Let this stripper marinate on your area you want paint removed and let it do it's magic. You should be able to wipe it all off when you're finished. Clean it with soap and water and ready for primer next

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting to update some furniture and also remove old paint from two doors. I didn't have enough to do everything that I wanted to do, but I will be getting more so I can finish my projects. I brought each item outside to work on in a covered area. I followed the instructions (they have additional info online) and was able to remove the varnish off of a few small pieces of furniture. It turned out easier than I actually expected. My pieces are cleared out and now I need to finish the rest of what I need to do like sanding and deciding how I want my pieces to fully look. I don't have any experience using this type of product, so if I can do it, anyone can. Follow the instructions and everything should be easy to do. Super easy product to use and surprisingly worked well. It was pretty satisfying to scrape off everything!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only used it for paint so far. And it is amazing. First the fumes are nothing like traditional strippers. You can definitely smell the citrus. I applied an even coat. Covered with cling wrap and waited the recommended time. Yes it really was that simple. There were a few spots that needed another round but all in all a great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this on an external storage shed door where the paint had started to peel off already. The door is metal and has multiple layers of paint. I followed the instructions: applied liberally, applied multiple coats and covered with plastic film to keep it from drying out. I tested it every 15-30 minutes and could see that the top layers of paint were starting to dissolve, but ultimately I wound up having to leave it on overnight (covered with the plastic film) for it to penetrate all of the paint layers. In the morning, the paint had bubbled up and was fairly easy to scrape off with little effort. I'm happy with this product as it did exactly what I needed it to do, but I just had to be patient and wait. I also didn't want to take the door off the hinges, so I had to apply the product with a paintbrush and although it's pretty viscous, it was still watery enough that it drips easily. So in hindsight, it would have been better for me if I had taken the door off the hinges and laid it down on the ground before applying the product. Also important to note, the product didn't have an overpowering odor that I could detect but I was using it outside. Very happy with this product and would use it again.

The gel formula also gives it a strong clinging capacity for tackling the toughest stripping jobs Just apply a generous coating of the stripper and let it set for the suitable time then scrap or wipe it away. Cleans up and neutralizes with water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's really nice to have product, that is usually super toxic and terrible, be available in a less harsh / more natural-based alternative. That said, this product does not work on everything. If you are doing a fairly light weight job, that doesnt require stripping a very heavy coat of paint, this works just fine. If you are, however, trying to strip multiple layers of thick paint (especially off of a porous material) this does not quite fit the bill. I am willing to overlook that for the fact that it is natural.
