Maxell Disc Scratch Repair Kit

I really Appreciate this item for some of mt DVDs needed some TLC and this product resolved the issue, thanx very much.

This stuff can make a royal mess, but I haven't found anything else that gets my damaged discs to play again. Sounds like a win to me!

Results were great. Fills scratches and allows disc to be read. Very good product.

it didn't take every scratch out - but some were highly damaged - however it did clean up alot more than i thought it would!

i got it fix old ps2 game disc. found game emulators much cheaper if you already have a ok PC. if you want a cheap way to repair disc this is much better then cheap repair machines worse then good expensive machines.

The claim is the products provided will clean/repair two discs. The package contains 2 very small pieces of "textured cloth" and 2 foil packets of disc repair solution.. The foil packs are not resealable and you don't use a whole packet on 1 disc, so it's up to you to figure out how to save the remaining or throw away. The method to clean/repair is very messy and once you've used one piece of "textured cloth", you must throw away. Problem: If the disc you've cleaned continues skipping or freezing the instructions are to repeat steps, rubbing more vigorously. Okay...rub with what?? The manufacturer doesn't offer suggestions of other types of "cloth" that are acceptable. First aid gauze? Cotton handkerchief? They don't recommend wearing like an exam glove, but I do. The solution smell lingers on your skin after multiple washes. As far as whether the product works...well, I'm still not sure. I need to reapply and go through the process on the one disc I'm wanting to save. It seems like it did help some but there's still freezing and skipping in places.

In days gone by, Maxell was the brand to trust for your electronics. And I have recently bought their RW CDs which are a good value/product as yet. So I trusted to buy these wipes for several CDs/DVDs that needed cleaning/repair. To start, the price is awfully high for what youre getting here, which advertises repair for 2 disks. They are like big diaper wipes, so I feel I couldve saved myself lots of money by buying a whole pack of those for a fraction of the price, and get the same results as with these wipes. I experienced little to no repair value for my disks with scratches, they still scratch when played. These wipes do NOT repair scratches-they do clean and repair skips from FINGERPRINTS; however, you can easily fix those by spraying alcohol on buffing wipes and get good results, so to my mind there was no need to buy for this reason. I was hoping to actually repair the little surface scratches that can interfere with smooth playing. However this is not the case, I would recommend looking on for another product if this is what you too are searching for. I used to buy a cream repair from Maxell that was very good, it came with a buffer wipe wo clean off the cream. THAT they should bring back, but unfortunately I couldnt find that online at all. If anyone from the company reads this at all, hopefully they take note to bring that back, as that did work wonderfully.

I tried this product. I did it once made no difference on the CDs. I did it a second time still didn't make much of a difference a little improvement..

Used as directed! Same older results, scratching, held up in cd pkaying! No change? WASTE of money?
