MVW5430MW 7.0 cu ft Top Load Washer

I've just had the machine for a couple of weeks; so far so good! It was really nice that it was delivered to my door. I managed to set it up myself without any sort of previous experience. I think the hardest part was unboxing it. I did spend some time reading the manual to learn how to operate it. The drum is huge and holds a lot! I love that it doesn't have the agitator stick thingy. It's fun to watch the process through the transparent lid, it seems to assess the load prior to washing. I did purchase the additional Walmart protection plan in case of any shenanigans. I'm very happy with it! 😊 PS- Affirm is a wonderful way to make big purchases, have had a great experience with them so far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that the agitator is virtually nonexistent as it provides a bigger capacity. What I don't like is how long the overall wash cycle is. My old Maytag washed in about 35 minutes & this takes over an hour. I also dislike that there was no detailed manual with delivery- only a summary page (not good).

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Maytag 5.5 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer - MVW5430MW. Bought as part of a pair of Maytag appliances. Did not know that this non-agitator model used so little water. It sometimes looks like that some of the clothes do not get fully wet. Hard to get used to and do not know if it cleans as well as our old Maytag washer. We are not sure if the detergent is mixing well with the water before the wash cycle. It also seems to take a long time to start. May return this model for the old-style agitator model. It is a lot quieter than our older model. And hopefully we are saving on water usage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When using the deep fill setting it still doesn't seem to wash a large comforter well. There are dry spots, meaning its not fully submerged in the water. Also several times 5 minutes into a wash cycle its been draining and going to rinse and needs to be restarted.

I cannot verify if all the things it's supposed to do can be done because my brand new 750.00 washing machine was damaged beyond repair upon arrival , it had been dropped from a pretty good height at some point during dilevery and the front right side was crinkled near that foot and the mount inside the washer that holds the long bolt to support the tub was broken and bolt was just hanging while the tub was resting on the inside somewhat sideways against the side wall of the washer . So I had to go for almost 2 weeks without a washing machine while I waited for a refund and had to reorder directly from Maytag website. Walmart warehouse employees at the site in Georgia knew it was damaged when it was loaded and shipped. Not blaming walmart , blaming the employees who knew it was damaged and sent it out anyway. They need to be supervised better especially on items as costly as this to ensure only quality products reach the customers . I know it's hard to find good help but with the amount that your warehouse people are being paid now that should be incentive enough for them to do alot better job than was done for me . The representative for walmart was nice and courteous and promptly sent a return label for me to print out and he scheduled a pick up the next day thru fedex . Was pleased with his service there .... so I can't reccomend this washing to anyone as it was unusable upon arrival due to damage caused by walmart warehouse employees .

Very poor product! This washing machine is only 3 years old and it now only works intermittently. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't even turn on. We've spent $ on a repair man to come in to say we should just get a new washing machine rather than fix this. The inside of the machine is also rusting, causing chunks of paint/metal to go onto our clean clothes. This machine is loud.

Had 3 martial arts uniforms in it. 2 made of cotton, one a cotton blend. Machine could not spin them dry. Has "Deep Fill" set on Medium in an effort to help it balance this VERY SMALL load. But the time it got to the spin cycle, the load was so unbalanced the machine walked itself across the floor. The point of an "automatic" washing machine is to have my clothes washed AUTOMATICALLY, without me having yo rearrange the load, but that is just a dream with this model. If all you wear is light polyester fabrics, and you do very small loads, this delicate flower of a washing machine might work well for you. But it might not.

The most impressive thing about this washer is its ability to turn a one-hour chore into an all-day event. Nothing says "modern convenience" like babysitting a washing machine and restarting cycles over and over again. I've owned cheaper washers, older washers, and even used laundromat machines that performed better than this overpriced piece of junk. Since buying it, I haven't had a properly washed set of sheets or towels because the cycle never actually completes. If you're shopping for a washer and enjoy clean laundry, free time, and maintaining your sanity, keep looking. This machine excels at exactly one thing: making me miss every washer I've ever owned before it.

After less than a year of use, we are completely unable to use the washing machine. Have no clue what is wrong with it. Essentially it goes into sense mode, tries to lock the door and fails, then tries to spin the drum three times and fails, then shifts to done and drains the non-existent water. I have tried troubleshooting that thing to the nth degree but have found no way forward

Absolute trash. Within a year we started having issues. Apparently the issue we had wasn't part of the warranty. Now right at 3 yrs of ownership it has completely quit working. You try to start a load and it just jumps to done mode. Worth washer I've ever owned. Apparently it's a computer part that started going bad from the start and conveniently that's not warrantied. I'd be happy to post pictures and videos of this piece of crap.
